We spent much of the evening watching at minimum three sets from every team still in a position to get to the championship rounds. Here is a peek at how the Kansas teams are managing after two days.
Dynasty 15 Black looked like a team on a mission through the first two days. They had a tough battle today versus Long Beach, pulling out a 26-24 second set, to force a decisive third set. Skyler Pierce Skyler Pierce 6'3" | OH Olathe Northwest | 2024 State #4 Nation KS was impressive from the outside and helped lead the offense to a 15-9 third set win. Ryan McAleer stood strong against some wicked shots and played stellarly. They went a perfect 5-0 the first two days.
Mavs KC 15-2 and 15-1 are off to great starts in the National Division. 15-2 is 5-0 after the first two days and being the only undefeated as the 4th seeded team in the pool. Lauren Roediger Lauren Roediger 6'2" | MB Olathe Northwest | 2024 State KS has been on fire from the middle position. On the outside, Seenane Brewer has contributed on the pin. Libero Emoery Sher has looked good through the first two days.
The other Mavs KC team went 4-1 through the first couple of days and will join 15-2 in pool play tomorrow. Their only defeat was to FC Elite 15 Navy in three. Libero Sophia Bond Sophia Bond 5'7" | DS/L St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State KS has been steady through the first couple of days. Taylour Standifer has made some timely plays from the right side. Kelsey Schenck has had a strong connection with middle Olivia Martin.
Shockwave did just enough to grab the third slot in pool play after going 3-2 through two days. They will kick off pool play again tomorrow featuring two new opponents. Gracie Morrow Gracie Morrow 5'11" | OH Maize South | 2024 State KS has been lights out to open the tournament from the pins. Avery Elofsson has added a presence on the right side. MB Cecelia Young has sent back a few balls to the opposing teams with huge stuff blocks.
