Fallyn Blotzer, 6-0 OH, Santiago – Blotzer’s 247 kills paced the Sharks’ offense during the regular season and there’s plenty more to come in the years ahead. She also did her job in the back row, compiling 112 digs. She continued her all-around play by chipping in with 33 blocks and 31 aces. Four times this season Blotzer sent down 15 kills, including in the final match of the regular season in a sweep of King.
Maylynn Mitchell, 6-0 OH, Santiago – With 225 kills, Mitchell ranked second in winners during the regular season. It featured a season-high 16 kills in a Aug. 26 four-set victory against Rancho Cucamonga. Mitchell had another big outing with 14 kills to help lift the Sharks to a CIF-SS Division 3 second-round victory over San Marcos. Additionally, she tossed in 78 digs and 52 aces, which was second on the team during the regular season.
Morgan Fox, 5-5 Outside, Linfield Christian – The Lions’ season came to a close when they lost a CIF-SS Division 4 wild card match to Crescenta Valley. As the lone freshman on the roster, Fox appeared in 71 of the 87 sets and her 73 kills were third most during the regular season. She finished with 80 on the season along with 97 digs and 36 aces.
Grace Liesemeyer, Libero/DS, Paloma Valley – The rookie campaign for Liesemeyer was a good one as she helped the Wildcats reach the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs, which ended with a first-round setback to Temecula Valley. Still, Liesemeyer showed the backcourt is in good hands as she finished second with 124 digs on the regular season. She tied a season high with 12 digs in the loss to Temecula Valley, a mark she hit three times.
Atalie Barnard, Setter, Valley View – At times it was a tough season for the Eagles but Barnard did her best to help the team fight through those moments and it’s clear she’ll be part of the production in seasons to come. She had five aces in her first match of the season, a five-set victory over Arlington. She set a season high for aces with 7 in a sweep over Orange Vista on Sept. 15. She also delivered a season-high 20 assists in that outing, a mark she matched in a loss to Heritage on Oct. 11. She also put up a season-high 13 digs in a loss to Woodcrest Christian on Aug. 25.
