Ella Keevan | Marquette
The freshman stepped right onto the court for Marquette and ran the offense with precision. Not only did she lead the freshmen in the area with assists at 892, but she guided her team to a state quarterfinal appearance. After a couple more years of experience under her belt, she’ll leave Marquette as one of the best setters to play for the Mustangs.
Callie Sutton | Bunker
Playing for a small class school sometimes will get a player overlooked, but ending her first year 2nd in the area in assists is big time and helped guide her team to a semifinal loss to eventual Class 1 4th place finisher South Iron. She would end the year with 861 assists and 211 digs.
Katelyn Diani-O’Day | Lutheran St. Peters
One of my favorite freshmen setters I had the pleasure to watch this year. Court presents, hands, decision-making, and her confidence on the court were fun to watch. She would end up third in the area in assists for a freshman with 776. She possesses all the characteristics of a big-time setting recruit.
Clare Carroll| Whitfield
Another outstanding setter for this class in the area would end up 4th in assists with 717 for freshmen. She distributed the ball well and put her hitters in positions to succeed, and she’ll have a fantastic club season.

The 5’10 setter wasn’t on my radar until I watched her play against Borgia and would rack up 42 assists. Great hands and jump sets about every ball and toss in that jump float and setter dump, and she’ll be a doozy for Howell years to come.
