Presley Cord- Senior setter from Montgomery County, Presley Cord, was a force to watch for the Lady Indians. Cord finished the year with 1146 total assists and added 308 digs and 86 service aces. What’s so special about Cord was her leadership in every game. Montgomery County clenched a district championship in 3 sets, but they truly had to work hard for the region finals where they won a tough 5 setter. Cord aided the team with 38 assists and 12 digs. Her ability to set the ball from every position made Montgomery County’s offense truly hard to defend.
Jada Knight Jada Knight 5'9" | S Warren East | 2024 State KY – A setter that deserves more recognition, Jada Knight Jada Knight 5'9" | S Warren East | 2024 State KY , sophomore, from Warren East ended the season with 832 assists making her #17 in the state! Knight started for East as just a freshman, and you can tell how much more comfortable she looks in the position. Jada’s knowledge of the game sets her apart from other setters because she knows the ins and outs to the game. Her physical ability allows her to be a force in the front row, and she also knows how to run a quick tempo offense to her hitters. Watch out for this one in the next couple of years as she only grows into a high-level setter.
Avery Hellman- With a #24 finish in the state, Avery Hellman from Collins High School made a name for herself this season as their star senior setter! Hellman had a total of 713 assets in 85 sets, and she helped lead her team to a district runner-up title where she had 25 assists in just three sets. Something special about Hellman is how she impacted the floor in every position because of her hitting and passing abilities, so she was truly a force offensively or defensively for the squad. Hellman will be missed for the Lady Titans!
Kynzi Slone- From Paintsville High School, junior setter, Kynzi Slone, was a stud for the team! Slone finished 13th in the state for most assists with a grand total of 977 assists!! When watching Paintsville, it’s hard not keep your eyes off of Slone because of her high-energy the whole entire match. Having a setter that will run through a wall for you is what any coach wants, and this is exactly what Slone would do to go get the ball. She not only leads by example but by how vocal and determined she is to get the next point. Kynzi will be fun to watch next year in her senior season!!
