Brooks Chaney, 5-5 Libero, Jr, Santa Clarita Christian – Defense figured to be a fundamental makeup of the Division 5 championship match and behind Chaney the Cardinals finished the season undefeated. The junior dug up a match-leading 35 saves to help stall the Skyline attack.
Nevaeh Phillips, 5-8 Outside, Sr, Santa Clarita Christian – No one can say Phillips didn’t put in work in helping the Cardinals prevail. She took an incredible 72 swings and wound up with 22 kills. She was also part of a back row that was hard to get the ball down against as she posted 24 digs, second most on the team.
Hannah Shaffer, 5-9 Outside, Jr, Santa Clarita Christian – Along with Phillips, Shaffer made up the outside duo that had their hands on just about everything in the victory. She was busy on the attack as well with 65 kills, coming through with 15 kills. She also had 22 digs and saw lots of action in serve receive with a match-high 40 receptions.
Fane Paua, 5-10 Middle Blocker, Sr, Skyline – Paua was the most effective attacker for the Titans. She finished with 18 kills on 39 swings and hit .385. She also led the team with 1.5 blocks. The Titans were looking for Paua early and kept at it throughout the contest.
Charlotte Albert, 5-6 Libero, Jr, Skyline – Albert was active hitting the floor early on in the opening set to help establish the tone defensively for the Titans. She helped hold it down in serve receive with 26 receptions while delivering a team-high 33 digs.
Victoria Gonzalez, 5-9 Outside, Jr, Skyline – It was a big load for Gonzalez to carry, as the junior took 55 swings. She ended up with 12 kills but it was her defense that was a big part of the Titans’ effort. She wound up with 30 digs.
