Here are three 2025 Region 5 defensive specialists on the rise.
Elizabeth Morris is a freshman defensive specialist for Taylor County High School. Quick, Morris covers the court thoroughly and is a consistent defensive specialist. Morris possesses solid defensive skills and passing skills. A reliable back row hitter, Morris has displayed the ability to deliver in multiple categories.
Samantha Nelson Samantha Nelson DS/L Central Hardin | 2025 State KY is a freshman defensive specialist for Central Hardin High School. Agile, Nelson is quick reacting, moves well from side to side and covers the court extensively. Nelson digs and pursues successfully, producing regularly from her position.
Riley Underwood is a freshman libero/defensive specialist for Green County High School. Underwood, who possesses a diverse skill set, turns the first touch into a solid pass to the setter routinely. Able to set the ball if needed, Underwood is a reliable passer who excels defensively.
