Paul VI cruises past Newark Academy
Fresh off the biggest win in program history, the Paul VI girls volleyball team looked anything but satisfied on Thursday. The team continued their dominant play as they took down Newark Academy in straight sets.
The Eagles prevailed by scores of 25-17 and 25-16 to improve to 27-2 on the season. They will face second-seeded North Hunterdon in the TOC semifinals on Saturday.
Senior outside hitter Sadie Arasim notched a team-high seven kills to go with two aces. Newark Academy’s outstanding season came to an end but nothing but praise for this squad.
Mendham stifles Bogota
Nerves were not an issue like they were last weekend for Mendham as they came out firing to defeat the high-flying offense in Bogota. How did they do it? Defense! The team controlled their side of the court ensuring to leave it all out there and force Bogota to reset as many times as possible.
Chloe Czop seemed to be at the center of it all, capping her match with 13 vital digs. She seemed like she was everywhere but she made a slight reposition that gave her more freedom to make some plays. Mendham now has the task of taking on Williamstown.
For Bogota, there season concludes but it didn’t go down with them continuing their Group dominance with another state crown.
