One of the most athletic and physical middles at this event in 17 Open, Dailey is dynamic. The Kentucky commit has great quickness and elevates well, both attributes making her a terrific offensive threat around the setter and a big block that can get on hitters fast. A 9th place finish at NEQ should position this team from North Carolina well for a good start at the upcoming MEQ event in a couple of weeks.
Calah Jackson | NKYVC 17-1 Tsunami
Jackson continues to improve the quality of her touches on both sides of the ball and had a solid weekend in Philadelphia. Her offensive production has increased over this team’s recent two tournaments as she has good movement to make herself available in the middle third of the court. She puts up a good block and leads this team in serving pressure as she can control the ball well to disrupt opponents. She is committed to Christian Brothers.
Arissa Smith | HJV 17 Elite
Smith is 6’2 and has good athleticism and physicality in the middle. She is a big part of HJV’s effort both offensively and defensively that has contributed to their current top-10 national ranking in the 17U age group. The Mississippi State recruit has good efficiency in her movement patterns and is a great presence at the net through this mobility in addition to her elevation and arm in the air.
Emily Waddell | Circle City 17 Purple
Waddell has helped guide her team to two big tournament wins in March as they claimed both the Bluegrass title and an open-level bid in winning NEQ at 10-0 overall and without dropping a set. She has good athleticism and swings with a high elbow that makes her arm difficult to defend as she can control the ball well to develop good range.
Bella Wynja | Academy 17 Tsunami
A key element to this team’s effort, Wynja is part of middle tandem that can defend well with their size. She is a reliable offensive threat when she gets her opportunities and can swing with good power. When she is involved this allows their pins to get better looks and space. This team has earned respectable results in March with a runner-up finish at Bluegrass followed by a 13th place at NEQ.
