It is great watching these young players as they develop from week to week getting better every time we see them. The following players have made their way onto our All-Star Team.
All-Star Team 15s
Emma Parks – CAVB 15 Hraga
Parks was one of the taller players in this division and she definitely used it to her advantage. Able to get up above the net to block and take a big swing, she was a key player for CAVB this weekend. Her transition off the net was smooth and she connected well with her setter.
Providenza Allen – Mintonette Sports m.53
A right side hitter with long arms and a fast approach making her a dangerous player at the net. Great at coverage, I saw her pick up her own tip several times. She seemed to always be ready to do her part for this Mintonette team.
Halle Guentner – CAVB 15 Hraga
The setter for this energetic CAVB team, she was fast and able to get her hips there and give her hitters a great ball to swing at. She was a leader, communicator and celebrated with high energy giving her team the momentum needed to pull out the championship match. She will be a player to watch out for this season.
Rachel Hawk – Mintonette Sports – m.53
A libero that ran the back court well, picking up tips and playing the second ball when she needed to. She was focused and full of energy just like a libero should be. She was one of my favorite liberos in this division. Making it look like a breeze.
Ashlyn Myers – ROCKC 15-2
She was one of the smallest players in the gym, but don’t let that fool you. She wasn’t letting anything touch the floor on her side of the net. It was great to see the hustle and heart that she played with. She was quick on coverage, making sure she was there if her teammates got blocked.
Brooklyn Six – Jordan 15s
Brooklyn was a tough player that hustled and played every game like it was the championship match. Her timing was good on the net for blocking and her approach was fast and she finished with a high arm swing putting down some big points for her team. She is a young 8th grader playing up on this 15s team, she is gonna be one to watch for next year as she enters her freshman year in high school.
