Let’s take a look at one of the club teams from the Southern California region, learn a little more about them, and spotlight some of their standouts. This impressive 15s team has placed first in every PVL tournament they’ve played in so far this season.
They still have plenty of season ahead of them and it will be exciting to watch them progress. Below, are some of the members of the Surfside 15 PV Legends team who have helped make them one of the top 15s teams in the region.
Sophia Van Ness, 5’11” OH, 2025, Oaks Christian HS
A 6-rotation outside that has experience with USAV HP that is stable and consistent for her team.
Daniela Rusich, 6’ Middle, 2024, Palos Verdes HS
This middle is very impressive as she reads very well, moves laterally quickly, and sets up a good block. She also has a quick arm when she attacks.
Kaci Demaria, 6’2” OH, 2025, Palos Verdes HS
This outside hitter is long and hits high and hard. She’s the go-to attacker for her team from the front row and back row.
Lauren Neely, 6’ Middle, 2024, El Segundo HS
A middle with long arms and a good reach, she has a high contact point with the ball.
Mallory LaBreche, 5’11” Setter/Opposite, 2025, Palos Verdes HS
She plays a dual role for her team as a setter from the back row and hitter in the front row. As a hitter, she is impressive in her smart shot selection and effective point-scoring. She also plays beach.
Molly LaBreche, 5’7” Libero, 2025, Palos Verdes HS
A dynamic libero who has a lot of great saves in defense and a solid serve receive passer. She puts up a lot of great passes so that the team can run their offense.
