The 17 Open may have been one of the biggest divisions at the tournament and these ladies did NOT disappoint. They’re already some of the biggest names in volleyball and they’re just going to get bigger.
Let’s have some fun here. Here’s my pick for the 17 Open Dream-Team. Let us know who’s on your dream-team!
Chloe Chicoine Chloe Chicoine 5'9" | OH McCutcheon | 2023 State #1 Nation IN (2023) | 5’9 OH | Circle City
She’s one of the top attackers in the country. Huge hops and a fearless swing, Chloe Chicoine Chloe Chicoine 5'9" | OH McCutcheon | 2023 State #1 Nation IN was impossible to slow down. The Purdue commit was relentless leading Circle City to an MEQ Runner-Up finish and a GJNC bid.
I don’t think there was anyone more in the zone this weekend than @ChicoineChloe – @PurdueVB has some heat comin’ in!!!! #MEQs #BidDay #BoilerUp pic.twitter.com/rEsxBJin5J

Harper Murray Harper Murray 6'2" | OH Skyline | 2023 State #2 Nation MI (2023) | 6’2 OH | Legacy
I couldn’t not bring Harper Murray Harper Murray 6'2" | OH Skyline | 2023 State #2 Nation MI along for the ride on this dream team. She’s unstoppable on the left pin and she plays a great all-around game. She’s going to one of the best volleyball programs in the country and a power pin you need on your side.
@harpermurray4 out wide and cutting sharp!! #MEQs #BidDay pic.twitter.com/LczxrzbI5W

Laurece Abraham Laurece Abraham 6'1" | MB Country Day | 2023 State #111 Nation MI (2023) | 6’1 MB | Legacy
This field had some huge middles going crazy and Laurece Abraham Laurece Abraham 6'1" | MB Country Day | 2023 State #111 Nation MI was well in that mix. She is showing a lot of upside in her play and is proving that her ceiling is not yet found. Abraham’s slide was money all weekend long.
Laurece Abraham is cementing herself as one of the top middles in the country. Abraham was superb all tournament long!!! @YaleVolleyball #MEQs #BidDay pic.twitter.com/O1PY1n9Jxn

Reese Robins Reese Robins 6'5" | MB Timberview | 2023 State #15 Nation TX (2023) | 6’5 MB | Drive Nation
Opposite of Abraham, I am slotting in this Louisville commit. Reese Robins Reese Robins 6'5" | MB Timberview | 2023 State #15 Nation TX is one of those huge middle blockers I talked about and she can do just about anything. Her block was impossible to get around and she’s always ready to crank on a ball.
Reese Robins is a beast!!! @DriveNation_Dfw #MEQs #BidDay pic.twitter.com/J786xWsyt8

Kamille Gibson (2023) | 6’0 OPP | TAV
I am making this team an elite blocking team adding Kamille Gibson as my dream-team opposite. Gibson was about the only pin blocker that could slow down the biggest of left side hitters on her way to a championship finish. The future Lady Vol is pretty terminal as well.
@TAVVolleyball CAN YOU SAY MONSTER BLOCK?! #WOW #MEQs #BidDay pic.twitter.com/WK7W9walfl

Brynn Covell (2023) | 6’0 S | NC Academy
With all these cannons, Brynn Covell is going to have a field day with where to distribute the ball. Covell impressed alongside some of the best setters at MEQs. She’s deceptive and creative with her play. The future Aggie is not only fun to watch, but she’s tough to play against.
@NCAcademyVB and @circlecityvbc were battling in the gold medal pools!!!
Ava Smith was on her game though putting this rally away!!! #MEQs #BidDay pic.twitter.com/9a2uKdzpKM

Zoe Winford Zoe Winford 5'8" | DS/L Community | 2023 State TX (2023) | 5’8 L | TAV
Joining her teammate Gibson, Zoe Winford Zoe Winford 5'8" | DS/L Community | 2023 State TX was playing elite defense from opening point to championship point in Indianapolis. Winford reads the attacker so well and she covers a lot of ground in defense and in serve receive. Alongside Chicoine and Murray, this trio would make a killer reception line.
This defense is outrageous between @circlecityvbc & @TAVVolleyball !!! #MEQs pic.twitter.com/9fAJSxFsKP
