There were hundreds of talented teams from across the country competing in this awesome tournament and hundreds of college coaches in attendance. Oklahoma was well represented with three teams in the 15’s divisions. Tulsa Power Volleyball sent their 15’s team and they competed in the USA Division. This article is dedicated to how they fared at the prestigious tourney. They are some of the best players in the 2024 and 2025 grad class.
They came into the 15 USA Division ranked second overall and breezed through the first pool undefeated. They won matches against 575, Gainesville Jrs, and Texas Tornados 15 Adidas. Even though they were undefeated, two of those matches went to three sets, but TPV eventually prevailed due to some great fortitude. Their day two pool on Saturday was a lot tougher as it was filled with four teams who all either got first or second place in their day one pool. Every match tested their will and was extremely competitive. TPV fell in two matches and won one match. This third place finish gave them a route to the Bronze bracket for day three. The first match pitted them against Performance Volleyball club and TPV came out on top (25-20, 25-15). The finals of the bracket put them against Southern Kentucky Elite Volleyball Academy. TPV made quick work of them (25-16, 25-13) on their way to finishing 21stoverall out of 80 teams entered. The entire team gave some great performances over the course of the three days but I will highlight a few players who did well when I watched them.
Kynli Kirkendoll Kynli Kirkendoll 6'0" | MB Jenks | 2024 State OK [2024] 6-0 Middle (HS: Jenks/Club: Tulsa Power/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Kynli is currently the 3rd ranked overall prospect in 2024 class according to our Prep Dig Oklahoma State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Jenks High School and also for TPV. She is a very skilled middle with a lot of experience at the high school level. This past weekend at Sunshine Classic I witnessed her take over the match completely. She was solid from the service line as she either aced or got the other team out of system with her powerful serves. As a middle at the net, she was stellar on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. She was rising up fast and furiously to attack the ball with some blazing heat. I liked how she was able to run multiple routes and still deliver a powerful ball to the opposing team. She had a very good connection with her setter when I was watching. This young lady caught the eye of quite a few college coaches who were walking around the convention center and stopped to watch when they saw her unleashing bombs. We have been watching her since last year and she has gotten even better this year. Stay tuned for more from Miss Kirkendoll as she has a very high ceiling.
Arriana Brown [2025] 5-10 Outside (Club: Tulsa Power/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Arriana is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 class but that is only due to the fact that we have not released them yet for this class. She is on our watch list for sure and this weekend proved exactly why. She is a solid outside hitter who was playing amazing as a six-rotation player for TPV. What I liked the most was her ability to send over a power shot from anywhere on the court. She routinely did this even with out of system sets. This is one of the main reasons why TPV was so aggressive and competitive with every team they faced. Her serve receive passing and digging are things that might get overlooked because of her awesome offense, but rest assured that this kid has great ball control. We are going to keep our eye on her for the foreseeable future because we think she has some amazing untapped potential.
Ava Wilson [2025] 5-11 Outside/Right Side (Club: Tulsa Power/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Ava is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 class but that is only due to the fact that we have not released them yet for this class. We have just added her to our watch list based off of what we saw from her at the Sunshine Classic. She is a solid pin attacker who gave TPV some much needed power during some crucial times. She can play on both the left or the right side and give any team great offense. Her size in the front row was working wonders when I watched. She blocked very well and made some opposing hitters change their shots which helped TPV’s transition game. Miss Wilson is someone who can definitely be added to the rankings and move up if she stays on course with her training. She has a lot of upside in the front row on either pin.
