Alex Klukvin Alex Klukvin 5'7" | DS/L Olathe Northwest | 2025 State KS – DS/L – 2025 – Dynasty 17 Blue
This is one of the players that come to mind when we say we didn’t know much about them. It’s easy to get lost in the shuffle when you are playing up a couple of age groups and playing on the Dynasty 17 Blue team. In our piece earlier this week discussing open gym season (you can read it here), we shared how there are some really strong “2” teams out there. This Dynasty team is one that comes to mind and Klukvin is a straight-up baller. We were alerted of her play earlier this year but her play at Far Western Qualifier was electric. The team was short-handed and her play definitely elevated to new reaches. She’s what we would call a fearless and scrappy defender. Her instincts are something to crave as she is able to get a touch on some heat coming her way. She is poised in the passing department and displays great quickness and court awareness. You can see her highlights here.
Lauren Roediger Lauren Roediger 6'2" | MB Olathe Northwest | 2024 State KS – MB – 2024 – Mavs KC 16-1
High school teammates with Klukvin, Roediger is a fun player to watch at the net for Mavs KC. We talked about her briefly when highlighting middles who caught our attention this spring. She impressed us even more after checking out her Philadelphia reel from NEQ. We knew she was strong in front of the setter and was highly effective with 3 balls but it was her slide that drew our attention this time around. Her timing with her setter was much improved, which allowed her to be more effective. Her blocking was also impressive as she is quick off the ground. She is a powerful player who will continue to improve as she gets older and stronger. Check out her highlight.
Ashlee Chavez Ashlee Chavez 5'9" | RS St. James | 2025 State KS – Opp – 2025 – Dynasty 15 Black
We love powerful left-handed opposites and you get that in the youngster, Ashlee Chavez Ashlee Chavez 5'9" | RS St. James | 2025 State KS . She brings a punch with each swing from the right side. We love the work she puts in to get off the net in transition to make herself an option for her setter. She has great size and is another player who will only get better as they get stronger and faster. She helped lead her team to a second-place finish at Windy City. Here is a short glimpse of her play here from Chicago.
