The state of Kansas will be well represented amongst the many divisions! Today we will glance at the qualifying teams from the Open and USA Divisions. Pools have yet to be determined.
Open
Two teams we’ve come to know this season earned the heavy chased Open bids in Dynasty 15 Black and Mavs KC 15-1. We will start off with Dynasty . 15 Black locked up their open bid at the Mideast Qualifier earlier this season. We believe they aren’t perfect but fairly accurate but the AES rankings have this team with a 61-13 record on the year. They have been consistent and have played well during their 2022 season and hope to cap it off with a top 3 finish. The team has depth in many positions on the court. Ashlee Chavez Ashlee Chavez 5'9" | RS St. James | 2025 State KS , Hadley Porter Hadley Porter 5'6" | DS/L Blue Valley Southwest | 2025 State KS , Emma Christian, and Jenna McClure Jenna McClure 5'8" | OH Blue Valley North | 2025 State KS are a handful of players on this talented roster.
Mavs KC grabbed their open bid at the Northeast Qualifier. They are a team capable of clicking and going on an impressive winning streak to be in contention on the final day. Their record is showing at 41-13 on the season. They were competitive during the qualifying season and the region power league tournament. Logan Parks Logan Parks 5'11" | S Blue Valley North | 2025 State #8 Nation KS is one of the top players in the class in our opinion. She teams up with Lily Wedman Lily Wedman 5'8" | S Blue Valley West | 2025 State KS to form a formidable combo. Reagan McGivern Reagan McGivern 6'3" | MB Hayden | 2025 State KS and Taylour Standifer Taylour Standifer 5'9" | OH Shawnee Mission NW | 2024 State KS are additional players we should see contributing at a high level.
USA
Two teams who could easily be in the National and potentially the Open Divisions will take flight in the USA Division in PVA 15 Elite and KC Power 15-1. PVA journeyed to the Northern Lights to earn their bid. 35-17 on the year, they should be a contender in this division to reach the podium. Ball control and defense can carry this team through the tournament. Reese Cullor, Grace Martin, and Alexandra Myers are a few players contributing to this team.
KC Power took care of business in their backyard snatching up a bid at Show Me. They climbed over the 40-win mark with 41 on the year to 24 defeats. When completely healthy, they are capable of running off a string of victories in the tournament. Maren Carter Maren Carter 5'10" | OH St. James | 2025 State KS has been good this year. McKenna Jacquin and Ayla Klingerberg also should play a role in the team’s success.
