National
Mavs 816 15-1 and Mavs 816 15-2 earned the region’s National bids thanks to their Power League finishes. They join their counterparts on the Kansas side getting their top two teams into the tournament. Conner Gregston’s 15-1 team is 51-21 this spring and looks to finish strong after a good pre-nationals competition a little over a week ago. Brookelyn Hatton has been strong in the libero jersey for this team. Her defense and ball control has been an asset. Brylee Johnson has done a good job leading this team offensively with her setting. Madeline Sallee is a fearless attacker on the pin and Allison Heck is an offensive-minded middle who can score.
For 15-2, they also have the pieces to make some noise next week. Their 49-16 posted record shows they know how to win matches. Setter Delaney Rhoden is a smart setter and gets the offense going. Jayden Herl is solid on the pin and does a good job passing with pulled back. Libero Francie Keithline is key to the team’s defense. Ella Campbell is one of their middles who give a strong block at the net.
HPSTL 15 Orange racked up 44 wins through their region and qualifying season. They have the lone Gateway Region bid in this division. They are a team deep with scorers led by dynamic pin Katelyn Buchanan. She has a powerful right arm and defenders feel it. Emma Woll is a strong RS capable of causing havoc offensively and defensively. Katie Hickman does a good job of running the show and Evelin Thalacker is all over the court defensively. Kathryn Luth and Abby Moriarty provide offense to this squad.
