Continue ReadingThe camp was primarily dominated by 2023 and 2024 players, but some of the 2025 players did have bright spots. The four below are the only 2025 players I watched making impacts for their respective teams. I’ll watch these four to see how they progress through the season.
PJ Reutzel PJ Reutzel 5'7" | S Fredericktown | 2025 State MO – 5’9″ – Setter/Outside – Fredericktown
PJ was the top assist leader and finished 4th in kills as a freshman for a successful Black Cats team last season. This season look for her to be one of the top offensive threats. She has excellent hands, plays solid defense, and has a motor that doesn’t stop. PJ comes from a long line of talented female athletes in her family.
Emmy Gayle Emmy Gayle 5'5" | OH South Iron | 2025 State MO – 5’5″ – Outside – South Iron
Here’s one that surprised me at camp and someone I see making a positive output for the Class 1 Panthers. Undersized for outside but common in Class 1, she has a solid swing on either pin, plays tough defense, and is a primary passer. With her on the court, South Iron just got a lot better.
Lexie Bollinger Lexie Bollinger 5'8" | RS South Iron | 2025 State MO – 5’9″ – Outside – South Iron
Another player that stood out for me for Class 1 panthers was Bollinger. This year, a big and more agile player started as a freshman on the right but looked solid, hitting any position across the net in camp. Another key player for the Panthers if a return to the final four is in store.
Sidney Hawkins Sidney Hawkins 5'10" | OH Lesterville | 2025 State MO – 5’9″ – Middle – Lesterville
This year, a player that will be called upon more offensively has shown improvement over the summer. She started middle as a freshman for the Bearcats and will move around more this year to help keep the defenders honest. She can potentially provide more kills this season and help the Bearcats return to the state playoffs.
