Continue ReadingJuly 4, 2022, ended the GJNC in Indiana. The 14s and 15s began gameplay on June 27th and ended on June 30th. The ultimate goal after four days of matches is to bring home a medal. In our 14s group, there was a total of 207 teams within the five divisions where medals were won. In our 15s, there was a total of 105 teams within the three divisions where medals were won.
14s Open had a total of 36 teams. Five were from Southern and one was from Northern. Congratulations to SG Elite Roshambo led by Jimmy Lo, Vanessa Williams, and Erin Noriega for placing 3rd with a record of 8-2, bringing home bronze.
14s National had a total of 48 teams. Two teams from Northern and two teams from Southern. Congratulations go to Academy 14 HP from Northern, CA. They placed 3rd with a record of 9-2, bringing home bronze. They were coached by Daniele Desiderio, Lukasz Sasnal, and Shane Stent.
14s USA had 36 teams in the pool. Two were from Northern and three were from Southern. Taking 2nd place with a record of 10-1, congratulations go to NorCal Black 14-1 coached by Sam Crosson and Morgan Kordic. They brought home silver.
14s Freedom had 48 teams in the pool. Two from Southern and one from Northern. Congratulations to Bakersfield 14 under the guidance of Rachel Wulff, Judy Rexroth and Casie Psait for placing 3rd with a record of 7-3 bringing home bronze.
14’s Patriot had 39 teams, fourteen from Southern and one from Northern. Coached by Alicia and Ryan Redira along with Carson and Troy Tanner, Congratulations to Tstreet 14 for placing 2nd with a record of 9-2. They brought home silver. Right next to them was Surfside 14 Legends with a record of 8-2 placing 3rd. Coached by Jessica Turner, Jacob Richmond, Carly Morlan and Lindsey, Surfside brought home bronze.
Our 15s age group medaled in three out of seven divisions totaling 105 teams.
15s USA division had 36 teams in the pool. Of those 36, five were from Southern, and 0 were from Northern. Congratulations go to Forza1 North 15UA for placing 3rd with an 8-2 record, bringing home bronze. Their coaches who helped along the way were Taylor Lillard, Franko Rada and Austin Meador.
15s Liberty had 24 teams. One from Northern and one was from Southern. Congratulations go to SCVC Roxy coached by Lawrence Hom, Melissa Boice, and Krista Atzinger. SCVC Roxy placed 3rd with a record of 6-3 bringing home bronze.
15s Patriot had 45 teams playing. There were eleven teams from Southern and one from Northern. Two of our teams medaled. Under the guidance of Jaye Loyd and Kaja Sandberg, congratulations go to Wave 15 for placing 2nd with a record of 10-1, bringing home silver. Standing next to them and bringing home bronze, congratulations to SG Elite 15 Excel as they placed 3rd with a record of 7-3. They were coached by Taase Mose and Yu Hung Cheng.
312 teams combined competed in divisions where we had 14s and 15s representing. Ten teams brought home hardware. Congratulations to all of the clubs mentioned, along with their players and coaching staff for finishing off a strong season.
