Continue ReadingJuly 4, 2022, ended the GJNC in Indiana. The 16s and 17s began gameplay on July 1st and ended on July 4th. The ultimate goal after four days of matches is to bring home a medal. In our 16s group, there was a total of 138 teams within the four divisions where medals were won. In our 17s, there was a total of 175 teams within the four divisions where medals were won.
16s USA had a total of 36 teams. Two were from Southern and two were from Northern. Congratulations to Rancho Valley 16 Premier led by Danny Scott, Robert Vansant, Nathan Smith and Vu Dinh for placing 3rd with a record of 8-2, bringing home bronze.
16s Liberty had a total of 24 teams. There were no teams from Northern and four teams from Southern. Congratulations go to Actyve 16 Black. They placed 3rd with a record of 6-3, bringing home bronze. They were coached by Jon Daze, Otis Glasgow, Lainey Gera and Danny Woodley.
16s Freedom had 48 teams in the pool. Two from Southern and two from Northern. Congratulations to Tstreet IE 16 under the guidance of Andrew Hein, Kassandra McInteer, Taylor Rosas and Serina Ehoff for placing 3rd with a record of 6-4 bringing home bronze.
16’s Patriot had 30 teams, nine from Southern and one from Northern. Coached by Josiah Cruz, Aimee Asebroek, Tatiana Kuhn Clark, and Sola Martin, Congratulations to SoCal VBC 16 for placing 3rd with a record of 7-3. They brought home bronze.
Our 17s age group medaled in four out of seven divisions totaling 175 teams.
17s Open division had 36 teams in the pool. Of those 36, four were from Southern, and two were from Northern. Congratulations go to Coast 17-1 for placing 3rd with an 7-3 record, bringing home bronze. Their coaches who helped along the way were Ozhan Bahrambeygui, Ethan Champlin, James Gekas and Katie Meyers.
17s American had 64 teams. Three from Northern and ffive from Southern. Congratulations go to SDVBC 17 coached by Danielle Lamb, Stephen Lamb and Christopher Muscat. SDVBC 17 placed 3rd with a record of 8-3 bringing home bronze.
17s Freedom had 48 teams playing. There were two teams from Southern and two from Northern. Under the guidance of Sierra Yuen, Isis Arce, and April Villacampa congratulations go to SF Tremors 17 Wolverines for placing 3rd with a record of 8-2, bringing home bronze.
17s Patriot had 27 teams in the pool. Nine teams from Southern and two teams from Northern. Congratulations to MVVC G 17 Red for placing 3rd with a record of 9-1 bringing home bronze. They were coached by Lake Merchen, Ryan McLaughlin and Maggie McDonald.
313 teams combined competed in divisions where we had 16s and 17s representing. Eight teams brought home hardware. Congratulations to all of the clubs mentioned, along with their players and coaching staff for finishing off a strong season.
