In the varsity match, the Trojanettes played lights out for both sets and won 25-9, 25-5. Here are four players from both sides that really contributed to the great game.
Ally Buie- A middle hitter for Barren County, Ally Buie was the go-to hitter in this match and definitely led both teams in kills. Barren County always finds a way to get the ball to Buie even if they are out of system because of her live arm and big approach. Buie does a great job of waiting patiently for the high two ball in the middle and then staying open, so she can swing straight in front of her or cross court. This junior middle blocker definitely has a bright future ahead, and her sheer athleticism just proves it!
Carly Turner- An all-around senior outside hitter from Barren County, Carly Turner impacts the team in every way. As captain, she’s the team leader, but also the player that shows out by example. Turner is your smart outside that keeps the ball in play when needed and knows how to take a swing at the big moments. This past year, Carly Turner played club for BRAVO on their 18 Black team and dabbled in some beach too. Turner works hard, always shows up with a smile, and just purely loves the game!
Melina Hot- The setter for Warren Central, Melina Hot is just a freshman and already making waves for her team. Hot set for the freshmen, JV, and varsity team and stayed as a constant leader on the floor. She just recently started playing volleyball, and her hands are already pretty smooth. Plus, she’s athletic enough to get any ball that she wants to. Melina Hot is constantly learning and growing, soaking in all of the knowledge. It will be so fun to see where this player goes in the next couple of years!
Jazlyn Glover- Another freshman for Warren Central, Jazlyn Glover started as the libero for varsity as well as JV and then hit outside in the freshmen games. Just like Hot, Jazlyn also picked up volleyball recently and is learning so much from her coaches. Jazlyn is super athletic and has a big heart which is a great combination for any athlete learning a sport. She’s always hustling in the back row, making a play, and trying to be the best player she possibly can. Jazlyn will be a huge asset to the Warren Central Lady Dragons this year and in the future!
