We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be added to our prestigious State Rankings through their play on the court. Please welcome them with open arms.
Babi Gubbins Babi Gubbins 6'3" | OH Mater Dei | 2024 State #18 Nation CA [2024] 6-3 Outside (HS: Mater Dei/Club: Mizuno Long Beach/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Babi is currently ranked as the 19th best overall player according to our National Rankings. She is also listed as the best overall prospect and best outside in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at the vaunted Mater Dei High School and for the nationally recognized Mizuno Long Beach Volleyball club program. She is a two-time gold medalists in the Open division of USA GJNC. Her play has gotten her invited to the USA Volleyball’s prestigious National Team Development Program. She is a lengthy pin who battles very well at the net both at blocking and attacking. She is very physical and moves the ball to multiple locations on her opponent’s side to score. She is the focal point of her club’s offensive scheme and that includes when she is in the back row also. They have play-sets designed to get her the ball wherever she is on the court out of serve receive. This young lady is one player to watch for sure. Please help us congratulate her on being named the best player in the State of California.
Charlie Fuerbringer Charlie Fuerbringer 5'11" | S Mira Costa | 2024 State #2 Nation CA [2024] 5-11 Setter (HS: Mira Costa/Club: Mizuno Long Beach/Verbal: Wisonsin)
Charlie is currently ranked as the 2nd best overall player according to our National Rankings. She is also listed as the 2nd best overall prospect and top setter in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Mira Costa High School and for the nationally recognized Mizuno Long Beach Volleyball club program. Miss Fuerbringer truly needs no introduction as she is on our USA Volleyball U19 National Team as one of the setters. She is no stranger to the big stage as she has already won USA GJNC Open championships and led her high school team to a state championship also. Her level of play over the years has proven to be at an elite level and extremely consistent. She moves around the court so well as she tracks down passes out of serve receive and hard driven digs form her back row. Charlie is a phenomenal beach player also which helps her overall ball control and dynamic athleticism. This is one reason why her hands are so smooth when she releases the ball. Her ability to hit the bullseye on the target is second to none in the state. Please congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named one of the best volleyball players in the state of California in the 2024 class.
Jenna Hanes Jenna Hanes 6'3" | MB Cathedral Catholic | 2024 State #76 Nation CA [2024] 6-1 Middle (HS: Rancho Bernardo/Club: Wave/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Jenna is currently ranked as the 3rd best overall prospect and best middle in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays at Rancho Bernardo High School and for the nationally recognized Wave Volleyball club program. I love how hard of an approach Jenna takes when going in for quick attacks from her setter. She punishes the floor with hard driven footwork into the ground to gain momentum for her attack. Her feet do not stick onto the ground for very long as she is off of the floor very quickly and into the air to swing. She also has a whip of an arm that gets on top of the ball to slam it down. If there is no block in front of her she can bang in front of the attack line. But the true greatness of her offensive arsenal is how she is able to turn her body in mid-air and hit around the block to score. She is one of the best in the state of California at hitting around a block from the middle position. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of being named one of the state’s best volleyball players.
