Continue ReadingIn the lull between the end of the high school season and the beginning of club tournaments comes the time in our schedules to update the class rankings for each state. On Monday, December 5, we will roll out our updated class of ’23 rankings. Here’s what to expect:
New Players and New Commitments
Obviously, some kids have found a home for the fall of ’23 and, in a few cases, a home for January of ’23. There are plenty of kids still looking for homes, plus some new additions to the rankings. As a reminder, these rankings are subjective, and are NOT a reflection of who they are now, but what their potential at the collegiate level can be. You can also see high school information, possible club information (where applicable) and height.
Positional Breakdowns
We also take the time to talk about the top five or so players in each positional category that are still available to be signed. Those categories are pin attackers, middle attackers, setters and defensive specialists/liberi.
Stock Risers
Every season, whether it’s club or high school, there are kids that have overachieved to the point where their improvement cannot be ignored. We spend a day talking about those five kids that have invested in themselves enough to improve and definitely make a mark for colleges to notice.
Nearly 200 players on the rankings list for 2023!
Over the 2+ years that Indiana has been in the PD family, we have crossed the 150 player threshold once. On Monday, you should expect to see nearly 200 athletes, most of which are looking for homes for the fall of ’23.
We Could Use Your Help!
For now, there is exactly one scout for the entire state, and that would be yours truly. It is impossible for me to see every last athlete in every corner of the state. There is just too much volleyball in too many pockets of the Hoosier State for me to see everyone. That’s where you, the reader, come in. If you have information on kids I have not noticed, not mentioned, or possibly mentioned too infrequently, feel free to help with stats, video and club information that would help get those athletes seen on a grander stage than some random email blast from an overworked and underpaid club recruiting coordinator.
