This is awesome for college coaches coming to scout, as well as for us here at Prep Dig. Much of the state was in action this weekend. Two huge tournaments were hosting over 630 teams signed up. We were in attendance for the Tulsa Attack. Lets take a look at a handful of 16s age players who stood out and played well!
The top finishers for the 16s division were:
1st- Tulsa Power 15-1
2nd- Peak 16-2
3rd- Tulsa Power 16-2 and Peak 16-3
Player Analysis:
Alayna Wolfe #5- Defensive Specialist for TPV 16-2. She attends Union High School. Showing some love for the passers out there. She deserves the recognition. She is such a hard worker. This really helps her skills flourish but more importantly it sets the tone for the whole team. Watching her pass in the game, its hard not to notice how well she forms her platform and stays behind the ball.
Frannie Rollandini #13- Defensive Specialist for TPV 16-2. She attends Lincoln Christian High school. She was the player who got the match sealing ace to win the state title for Lincoln Christina this past school season. She did a great job for her school team and doesn’t seem to have slowed down in club. Already doing a great job in the back row and from the service line. She will gain some maturity and IQ this club season, which will allow her to be primed to be a leader for another state run.
Payten Sutterfield #12- Middle Blocker for Peak 16-2. She is homeschooled and play for OKC Storm. The middle duo for Peak 16-2 is impressive. Both players are a handful to deal with for opponents. Payten has good form on her hands when blocking. She turns her hands and shoulders back into the middle of the court. She has quick first steps both in transition and when reading where the ball is set. She will be a part of the dominance that OKC Storm will continue within the homeschool realm.
Jaiden Bingham #13- Middle Blocker for Peak 16-2. She attends Edmond Memorial High School. She has the height and has exceptional movement to boot. Her ability to run routes and be available definitely sets her apart from most middles. When watching them play, she made a plethora of swings that got some claps from crowd. Some of them may have even came from the opposing crowd out of respect.
We will be putting out multiple articles over the next week covering these top players and some emerging stars. 2023 has already begun to prove what we have been saying for a couple years now, Oklahoma is on the rise and will be a force in volleyball sooner rather than later.
