The ultimate goal after three days of matches is to stand on the stage with your team and bring home a medal. There was a total of 845 teams who attended the event. Out of the 845 teams, 401 represented California. A total of 212 California club teams ages 15 and 16 represented their clubs at the Classic event. received medals in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. Congratulations to the following Las Vegas Classic medal winners!
16s Premier had a total of 40 California teams who played. In this division, three California teams medaled in the gold bracket. This is the only division that California teams took gold, silver, and bronze. Taking first place is Rancho Valley 16 Premier coached by Vu Dinh, Samantha Middleborn, and Danny Scott. They ended with an undefeated record of 10-0. With a record of 9-1, A4 Volley took second place and silver medals home. They were led by Cassie Strickland and Tom Hoff. The third place finishers accepting bronze is Seal Beach 16 Black coached by Antonio Rodriguez and Lucie Walsen-Schulz. All three teams had great sportsmanship, and strong court awareness and accomplished the goal of bringing home a medal that recognized their hard work and team efforts.
16s Club had a total of 81 teams. Three California teams medaled in this division. Two teams were given 3rd place standings. In 2nd place receiving silver is 951 Figs 16-1. Their record was 10-1. Coached by Dennis and Talen Palpallatoc, Mekenna Clugston, and Kymberly Silveyra. Coming in third place with a 9-1 record receiving bronze is Valley Volleyball Club coached by Matt Terra, Courtney Thacker and Jerry Vang. Also in 3rd place is WAVE Casey with a record of 9-1. Guided by Casey Castillo, Noly Mon Jr., and Brennan Dean.
15s Premier had 27 teams in the pool. Taking 3rd place with a record of 7-2 is Valley Volleyball Academy. Coached by Richard Saldivar and Lauren Sabbatini. They brought home bronze.
15s Club had 64 teams in the pool. This is another division where two teams were given 3rd place standings. Taking 2nd place is DartFrog 15 Katie. They obtained silver with a record of 9-1. Under the guidance of Katie Gardenhire, Nicolette Bloomer, Alyssa Mathews, and Melissa Sapp. Then coming in 3rd is Apex1 15 Black bringing home bronze. Coached by Ryan Thompson and Rebecca Lowden.
413 teams all together competed in divisions representing 15’s and 16’s. 212 of those teams were from California. Nine California teams brought home hardware between each division. Congratulations to all of the clubs mentioned, along with their players and coaching staff. Your hard work and dedication paid off.
