Yesterday’s feature spotlighted a handful of 2024 pin hitters who captured our attention at the recent Presidents’ Day Classic in Omaha. Our film study of that event is marching along, and now it’s time to bring some 2025s into focus.
Like the 2024 feature, we’re bringing plenty of under-the-radar names to the forefront as the club season begins to ramp up.
Nebraska Elite 16 Maverick needs a new standout pin hitter on this year’s squad, and Miller could be the perfect fit to fill that void. The Omaha Westside product has proven to be a dominant force on either pin, and she also brings the ball control skills to take 16 Maverick to another level. Miller’s pass-to-attack prowess was on full display during the Presidents’ Day Classic, offering a lot of optimism about the team’s chances of a repeat Open bid.
Like Miller, Layson will have a colossal impact on this season’s 16 Maverick frontcourt. She has a strong, fluid approach that is suitable for either pin, but Layson has done most of her damage on the left side for Nebraska Elite. When this Omaha Duchesne athlete is terminating, there’s little that 16 Maverick can’t accomplish.
We have a lot to learn about Premier 16 Black this year, and Palmer is one player on this squad who is really finding their stride. Her assertiveness on the right pin fits perfectly with 16 Black’s lineup. Palmer can hit a heavy ball through the seam and has evolved as the team’s primary terminator in out-of-system situations. This is one group I have bookmarked as qualifiers keep filling our schedule.
Piatkowski has long been a do-it-all outside hitter in the Nebraska Elite gym. Her value as a high-flying pin attacker is matched by her lockdown defense in the middle-back area. Nebraska Elite has some serious depth from the Class of 2025, and Piatkowski is a shining example.

Reitsma’s highlight moments have helped put Premier 16 Red on the map in early-season competitions. This hard-hitting opposite can put plenty of heat on the ball even when she can’t get a full approach in transition. So, it’s not hard to see why Reitsma gets so many opportunities to swing when 16 Red needs some side-out offense.
Evangelho made a huge splash last December when she made the commute to Des Moines for our Prep Dig Iowa Showcase. That venue allowed Evangelho to establish herself as a dominant middle blocker, but her 2023 stint with VCNebraska has shown that she can also take over matches as an opposite. Keep an eye on this stock riser.

Isabella Anselmo
We’re bringing another 2025 opposite into the discussion, and this one hails from River City. Anselmo showed some impressive physicality as her 16 Navy team put together a solid weekend at the Presidents’ Day Classic. This right-side hitter will be among several new additions in our next 2025 rankings update.
Chvatal’s instant impact has been felt with Club Legacy 16 Alpha. This is yet another right-side hitter who is rising up the 2025 ranks while also performing well at our Prep Dig Showcase events. Time to monitor Club Legacy for even more rising talents like Chvatal.

Finally, we paying a visit to Nebraska Juniors for another pin hitter who has been thriving for a while. Hern’s physical presence is a huge asset that 16 Black is keen to use in pivotal moments. Not only will Hern kill the ball with authority, but her blocking was an important piece of Nebraska Juniors’ success in Omaha.
