Mia Miller, 2026, SCVC – I go one way and the ball goes another is a terrific strategy often seen when Mia Miller hits the ball. Her approach takes her to an outside antenna and afterwards she wraps the ball back across her body. This leaves much attention needed from defenders. Staying engaged in the play is another often challenging task that Miller does well. Her blocking seems to be easily cross trained as she manages the space two to three feet away from the net with her feet, much like a beach volleyball athlete. Look for her to develop her game as her engagement with teammates is high making regular eye contact.
Alison Meisenzahl, 2026, A4 – Blocking will be a cornerstone of the game of Alison Meisenzahl year after year going forward. She does excellent work reaching for the ball almost like she is going to grab it rather than wait for a hitter to hit it at her. Additionally, her grab and go mentality is complemented with a strong work ethic to get all the way to her outside blockers and get there fast. Meisenzahl serves and keeps that active and close activity in the backcourt just as much as in the frontcourt. During out of system play, she also stays active and close to teammates ensuring a rally goes on.
Lily Jacobi, 2026, Academy – A reliable middle that is counted on the keep the ball in when hitting is something observed from Lily Jacobi. This includes that she will emphasize wrist action when needed. Her flexibility to do that is certainly something to watch. When it comes to blocking, Jacobi does not only one but two aspects notably. Look for her to press, and like an iron, her hands low across the net protecting the campfire area of the court and also affording an opportunity for her defenders to stay in engaged. Look for her to make excellent decisions when closing a block as she will drop step off the net to pick up a offspeed hit.
Regina Harris, 2026, Academy – Regina Harris is a middle blocker that stands out because teammates and opponents will quickly find out she is always ready to play. She stays ready by making small adaptations necessary for the unpredictable path of the ball. Think like she has an eye of the tiger. When the most popular hit, an outside hit happens, Harris really excels at getting close to the blocker to protect the den of the court. Additionally, for an infrequent as a middle gets an opportunity for a forearm pass, she is well learned and practiced with that skill.
Kameron Bazille, 2026, Bay Area Volleyball Club – Kameron Bazille is an excellent communicator. That is essential when developing the connection between a setter and the middle hitter position. When focusing on blocking, Bazille shows discipline footwork to get to the leftside blocker. That is essential when blocking the even varying attack of a slide attack, Additionally, she prepares well to block a leftside hitter by tracking the pass.
