6A West Players to Watch in 2023
In this article:
Summer is right around the corner and that means team camps/scrimmages and in season practices are on the horizon. We are going to take a look at a few players from each class on both sides of the state that could have a break out season in 2023. We will start with the largest class 6A.
Players:
Parker Gladhill Parker Gladhill 5'11" | MB Norman North | 2024 State OK – Middle Blocker for Norman North and top 10 overall prospect for the 2024 class. Parker has been a menace for defenses. Her ability to transition and be available often gives her a ton of opportunities to be get the ball. Not only that but it helps keep the opposing middle at home rather than cheating out to the pins. Parker will be a cornerstone for the T-Wolves this season and will be a huge reason why they make it to state again and possibly get back to the championship match.
Kathrin Rowe Kathrin Rowe 5'7" | OH Edmond Memorial | 2024 State OK – Setter/Right side for Edmond Memorial and top 15 overall prospect in the 2024 class. She had an amazing state tournament performance last year. She could block, she could hit, she could set, she could do just about no wrong. Huge moments never seemed too big for her. Someone needs to check her shoes for springs because she can get up. Which has a lot to do with how well she is able to execute those skills. I was very impressed with not just her skills but her poise as well. I look forward to seeing if she can replicate that same type of production again this season.
Anna Rice Anna Rice 6'3" | RS Edmond Santa Fe | 2025 State OK – Middle Blocker for Edmond Santa Fe and #1 overall prospect for the 2025 class. Not only does she play club on a high level team but she is hitting outside at times and gaining all sorts of valuable skills that will transfer beautifully back to the right side position. She has a huge swing that is tough for any digger to get under. With a little more favorable regional draw, I think Anna helps guide Santa Fe back into the state tournament in 2023.
Addison Worley Addison Worley 5'7" | OH Moore | 2025 State OK – Outside hitter for Moore and #1 OH in the class of 2025. Addison is a beast in the sand and that play helps her tremendously for indoor as well. Her all around play and control with swings makes for a player that brings value in all 6 rotations. I think this season is the season she takes a huge leap into the eyes of colleges. Coach Travis and Moore has been building a culture that will get them over the hump soon and by soon, I’m thinking this year. The hard work, speed of play and now some seasoned vets on the floor, watch out 6A!
Sydney Dunkleberger Sydney Dunkleberger 5'7" | S Edmond North | 2025 State OK – Setter for Edmond North and top 20 prospect for 2025. Sydney has beautiful hands and has a great jump on the ball. She finishes each set strong, giving her hitters consistent balls they can put away. With her quarterbacking the offense and a ton of young talent around her, my bold prediction is they make it all the way to the state championship match this season.
