The first match of the day between the Topeka Fury 16-2 and SEK Smash 16-1 was highlighted by two sets of Kansas twin sisters who could one day be recruited as a package deal by a collegiate volleyball coach.
This is the first report of multiple reports to come from the 16 Select Division play in Lawrence.
Emily Lee, 5’11”, OH/MH, Hayden, ‘25
The Topeka Fury 16-2 team featured a set of twins who attend Hayden High School. Emily Lee finished with one kill, one dig, and one block. She can hit from the middle or outside and is not a defensive liability, so she could evolve into a six-rotation player.
Ashley Lee, 5’11”, MH/OH, Hayden. ‘25
Emily’s sister Ashley played a larger role in the Fury’s victory. She racked up four kills, four serve receptions, and two digs. I wish I could have pulled the two aside just to see which one jumps the highest and which one has the longer reach. Ashley like her sister can hit from the middle or outside.
Ava Price, 5’3”, DS, Riverton, ‘26
The SEK Smash 16-1 squad’s set of twins are more defensive players and a year older. Ava Price finished with seven digs, four receptions, and one kill. She has quick feet and makes a solid first pass. Ava and her sister Alexa kept the short-handed SEK Smash in the match.
Alexa Price, 5’3”, DS, Riverton, ‘26
Alexa Price also played well on defense finishing with 10 digs, seven serve receptions, and two kills. Riverton’s volleyball team has been producing college-level talent and the Price twins might be a solid fit for an NAIA or JUCO program down the road. The Price sisters are a spunky duo who play with energy.
