Isabelle Brown Isabelle Brown 5'9" | S Avon | 2025 State #101 Nation IN , 5-9, Avon, Circle City
One of the setters for the 17-1 is already committed, so let’s talk about the other. Miss Brown will (and probably already has) gone through a brick wall to go get that errant pass your trusty defender just shanked. She’s a full-go, no-quit setter that puts herself in harm’s way when in pursuit, defends her position well, and is a no-nonsense type of floor leader. She locates well, has great work ethic, and is easily coachable.
Kaitlyn Kuckkan Kaitlyn Kuckkan 5'7" | S Lafayette Central Catholic | 2025 State IN , 5-7, Lafayette Central Catholic, Rev
Passing multiple clubs on the way to practice, Kaitlyn is already a state champ, an All-State honoree, and the setter responsible for the 16-1 at Rev being as successful as they are. Her older sister is already in the Missouri Valley (Gretchen, OH at Valpo), so she understands the work ethic required to get there. Her hands are quick and accurate, which fits well with how she runs her offense. Also a defensive dandy, Miss Kuckkan is more than capable of running the show at the next level.
Carly Fonda Carly Fonda 5'10" | S Floyd Central | 2025 State IN , 5-10, Floyd Central, KIVA
The starting setter on KIVA’s 16 White team, Carly is a taller-than-average setter from southern Indiana that is already accustomed to two things in volleyball—winning and training hard. Miss Fonda is one of two from Floyd on this roster, and both are seeing rapid improvements from the training alone. I like that Carly can be a plug-and-play 5-1 setter from day one, and is very good at adapting to her hitters’ differing preferences.
Ava Harris Ava Harris 5'11" | S Angola | 2025 State IN , 5-10, Angola, Team Pineapple
Ava is the setter for TP’s 16-1 squad, and what an athletic setter she is. She’s offensive on the second contact when she needs to be, knows how to locate balls perfectly in a fast offense, and has known nothing but open-level play for the majority of her career. Her coaches are Lloy Ball (high school) and Brian Harris (club). I don’t know of a pair of coaches she could possibly have that would be better. Ava maximizes every ounce of her ability when she plays, which, in a 5-1 offense, is key to a successful program. She’s a no doubt prospect that is only improving with every rep.
