Our stock riser spotlights for Nebraska’s newest 2025 rankings have already covered liberos and outside hitters. Time to move over to the setters, where several new faces have elevated their stock in the last several weeks.
Keep these names in mind as we move ever closer to the open contact period on June 15th.
It’s been fascinating to document the evolving role of Solomon within the Premier 16 Gold lineup. She has spent much of her prep career shining as part of two-setter systems, but this year’s club season has offered a different look for the Papio South standout. After helping the Titans win a second consecutive title, Solomon took the reins of 16 Gold’s 5-1 offense and helped the team earn a Nationals bid. So, this story will carry on into the summer.
Anderson has been outstanding in VCNebraska colors this year. Her command of 16 Elite’s setter position has been a gamechanger, and Anderson’s impact can be quantified in a variety of ways. She’s a strong right-back defender, can hold her own in the blocking phase, and adjusts tempos in the right situations. Keep this surging Skutt star on your radar.
Why not stay in the VCNebraska gym? Waido helps demonstrate the extraordinary depth for this club among its setters, as the Wahoo native put together an excellent 2023 campaign with 16 Black. Keep Waido bookmarked if you’re looking to forecast some of Nebraska’s top high school stat stuffers this fall.
The pressure of stepping into the starting lineup for a storied high school program must be significant. Potthoff has never seemed overwhelmed, however, and she instead offered a big boost to Gretna as the Dragons reached another state tournament. That upward trend has only escalated as Potthoff took the court with Premier 16 Black this year, and this is one setter we’re excited to see at Nationals to end the year.
Highlights
Fast has been a subject of many discussions regarding Nebraska’s top 2025 setters. As her name suggests, Fast’s rise up the leaderboards has been quick. River City Jrs 16 Navy displayed some excellent, cohesive volleyball this year, and the team’s setter was usually in the middle of those highlight moments.
We’re getting some nice club variety in this feature as Craven joins the fray from Banzai. This is another athlete we can look forward to seeing at Nationals, too. 16 Select put together some clutch wins at last month’s Great Plains Bid Tournament, and Craven had a lot to do with that season-ending hot streak. We’re ready to see some of that smooth offense emerge yet again as Banzai VBC takes on club volleyball’s biggest stage.
Lewis checks into this feature to put one on the board for Nebraska Elite. The Omaha-area standout has been quickly climbing the ladder at Nebraska Elite and has some impressive highlights to her credit while running the 16 Koa offense. But, like many of the other players on this feature, we’ve also seen Lewis flex into other roles from frontcourt opposite to primary defensive specialist. Anything to win.
Here’s a small-town setter that was long overdue for a boost in our rankings. Feeney has been instrumental in guiding Adams Central to repeat appearance in the state tournament. She’s been doing this as an underclassman, too, which is a testament to her maturity and poise under pressure. Perhaps will see a repeat performance in 2023 as Feeney takes on a leadership role as a junior.
