The last two months we have done Prospect Roulette for the Class of 2024 and Class of 2025.
It’s a pretty simple format, we use a random number generator to select numbers based on how many ranked players we have in the given class. Based on the numbers selected, those are the prospects we feature in that article.
When it comes to the Class of 2026, we don’t have rankings quite yet. But, we do have 50 kids listed on the Watch List in alphabetical order. So, we randomized seven numbers and that matched up with where the kids landed on the Watch List.
Here’s the lucky players selected for this month.
Lesley is a middle that looks like an outside in the way she’s able to play at the net. She’s got a really nice spring in her takeoff and is able to use a variety of arm angles to still generate a lot of power. She stands 5’10”, but brings the athleticism of an all-around outside hitter.
Beaudrie is another well-rounded, technically-sound player to come from the SMCC program. She’s good at letting the game come to her and not forcing bad swings, while also being a consistent and steady defender. As she is able to dial up her aggression in the years to come, she can be a dominant player.
Highlights
Martin has a lot of promise to be one of the top defenders in the class. She’s got a natural feel for the ball and where to be to make a tough dig. Her passes and first contacts are very accurate and allow her team to stay in-system. She’s also got the ability to play the RS if needed, using her athleticism to be a potent hitter as well.
Cullen is another sound outside that can impact the game with her defense along with her hitting. Cullen is a patient player that reads the defense well and places her attacks in good areas to keep the defense running. She’s been doing a better job of tapping into a little more aggression, which will help her become a more consistent finisher.
Fedrigo is definitely a name to keep an eye on. A 6’1” middle on the roster, Fedrigo has been finding a home on the RS as well this club season. What you see out of her game is a lot of power and consistency. No matter how the ball comes her way, she’s able to deliver a lot of velocity on her attacks. Fedrigo is also a force with her blocking, and only getting better with her defensive instincts.
Highlights
Wolf has picked up some good experience against a lot of power hitters over in the Grand Rapids area. She’s not one to be intimidated and she has a short memory, which will serve her well at the libero position. Wolf moves well and doesn’t let herself get planted to the ground often. She’s improved her command and communication as well.
Davison has gotten a lot of good teaching in the last year while working at Marian. That education is showing, as she’s got a lot of flare at the setter position. She makes athletic sets and can get great touch out of difficult positions. Davison can run a fast offense and has also been able to play the RS as well, showing some promising attack skills for her future development.
