Here’s a look at 10 juniors that have compiled dozens of blocks in the 2023 season.

Victoria Gray Victoria Gray 6'2" | MB Bedford | 2025 State #100 Nation MI , Bedford
Gray has been one of the state’s most dominant blockers for some time now. After putting up 172 last season, she’s got 80 through 76 sets in the 2023 season. Gray is an absolute game changer at the net with her long reach and 6’2” frame. Opponents have to prepare for her blocking as much as her hitting.
Sadie Haase Sadie Haase 5'11" | MB Fruitport | 2025 State MI , Fruitport
Haase is an impressive offensive talent that has upped her presence at the net with her blocking thus far in 2023. She’s already got a career-high in blocks with 59 through 71 sets. She’s surpassed 165 in her career and is quickly adding to that total.
Jordyn Anderson Jordyn Anderson 6'3" | S Ludington | 2025 State MI , Ludington
The Orioles have been a busy team and the team’s 6’4” setter is making a lot of impressions on opponents. Along with her ability to run an offense, Anderson has put up 49 blocks thus far in the season. Anderson is allowing down a lot of opposing attacks and making it easier for her defenders to cleanly get her the ball.
Cassidy Pratley Cassidy Pratley 6'0" | MB Harper Creek | 2025 State MI , Harper Creek
The 6-foot Pratley has a real nose for the ball. She’s improved on her offensive play this season and is finishing at a solid rate. As a defender, Pratley is very active at the net and quickly piling up blocks. She’s got 47 through 59 sets and is a tide-turning player for the Beavers.
Macie Merrill, Springport
Merrill is listed at just 5’9”, but she can really explode off the floor. That’s shown with her impressive blocking numbers this year. She’s tallied 45 blocks in 48 sets for the Spartans, averaging over two a match. She’s had seven straight matches with at least one block and has 15 blocks over her last six outings.
Josie Noble Josie Noble 6'2" | MB Caledonia | 2025 State MI , Caledonia
Noble is someone appearing on a lot of 2025 player lists this season. The 6’2” middle is doing a lot of positive things for Caledonia, with her blocking being a big part of it. Noble has 45 blocks this season through 62 sets. She’s strung together five straight matches with at least two blocks.
Georgia Pennington, Caledonia
Caledonia has been very effective on the block this season, as shown by the efforts of Noble and Pennington. Pennington has seen a much larger role this year and it’s showing with 40 blocks on the season. She’s come through with some very timely blocks in tight matches.
Kate Schneider Kate Schneider 6'1" | MB L'Anse Creuse North | 2025 State MI , L’Anse Creuse North
LCN is really have a good year and Schneider’s play is a testament to how tough the team is defensively. The 6-footer has 40 blocks on the season through 55 sets, averaging nearly two per match. She’s really been turning up the play as of late, posting four big blocks against Eisenhower and five against Fenton.
Morgan Kuhl Morgan Kuhl 6'2" | MB Hanover-Horton | 2025 MI , Hanover-Horton
Kuhl has had good instincts for where to be at the net this year, slowing down a lot of opposing attacks while tallying a total of 39 blocks. Her strongest effort came in a five-set thriller with Homer, where she had 10 blocks for Horton.
Megan Pavwoski, Grand Traverse Academy
A D4 force at the block this year, Pavwoski is averaging a block a set with 37 on the season. She was dominant on the block in recent matches as well, putting up four blocks against the likes of Hart and Bellaire, while tallying an impressive seven against St. Mary.
