Natalie Escalera | 6’0″ | 2026 | MB/OPP | Fremont High School
When getting ready, Natalie Escalera takes big steps. This opens up a lot of opportunities for her setter to find a place along the net for her to hit. That type of mobility through distance really makes a blocker pay lots of attention. Escalera finds middle back and the line with her left handed attack most of the time. Additionally, she hits more toward the bottom of the ball. When she does that it gives even more opportunity. This time at the end of the skill performance by involving her wrist snap.
Zoe Shie | 5’0″ | 2026 | L | Fremont High School
Zoe Shie is a second year varsity player that is an excellent example of showing improvements. As athletes strive for getting better everyday, again, look no further than Shie. When in serve receive, there is year over year improvement. 2022 was approximately four digs per set and 2023 is approximately five digs per set. Additionally, serve receive has improved in one category by nearly 15%. These continuous big changes can lead to off the charts performance by her senior year.
McKayla Hsu | 5’4″ | 2026 | S/OPP | Fremont High School
The vibes a team plays with can often be largely impacted by a setter and McKayla Hsu plays with great confidence. This is contagious. Her confidence is displayed through continuing her initial read on a play. How many times is there a first thought, then stop, then start again in that same direction. When Hsu sees something happening, she goes and see it through. That playing style spreads through the team and makes for great rallies. When setting, Hsu jumpsets on a tight pass and utilizes a spin set when the pass comes off the net.
Iris Jin | 5’7″ | 2027 | OH/OPP/S | Saratoga High School
When timing is perfected, Iris Jin will be a really great hitter in a fast tempo offense. Her approach starts out quickly leading her to likely have the fast 40 yard dash time on the team. As she comes in fast, Jin also opens her body up to the net allowing for both a cross court and line attack. When viewing, she is fun to watch. Specifically, her celebrating subtly showcases a sigh of relief. That focus on performance will only lead to great things for her in the future.

blocking across the net, they will have to be a step or two ahead. This middle blocker jumps and has an excellent ability to move her arms quickly. Specifically, her arms stay down extra tenths of a second but quickly come up and across the net. She touches a height of the second red on the antenna. Additionally, she reads a play well and gets in the right spot. When hitting, Hotha is really great at knowing when to go for a point and when to keep it in play.
