Genesis Ocampo | MB/S | Orosi High School
The athleticism of Genesis Ocampo makes her quick to cover a lot of space on defense. When she is digging the ball, it almost seems like she is playing hot potato. Specifically, she receives and sends the ball out to a target very quickly. That target is found after a lot of movement from her. To get it just right, Ocampo is making adjustments all throughout the volley to make that quick ball transfer effective. Additionally, her defense extends to a tough jump serve that puts pressure on opponents.
Savannah Cisneros | 5’5″ | 2024 | OH/L/DS | Fresno Christian High School
Savannah Cisneros has a flat platform. Need more be said when giving a description of an athlete and the ability to bring a ball back up? She often has one foot in front of the other when digging a ball. When an attack comes at her, Cisneros is comfortable using either her platform or hands. Teammates play well with her and seem to always have her back on attacks her direction. When a volley is going on the other side, she tends to back up first looking like she is reading the play then authoritatively comes in to make the play.
Julianna Bondoc | 5’4″ | 2024 | L/DS | James Logan High School
Stability in a platform is something that will often be seen when Julianna Bondoc plays the ball. Her platform moves from down to up and stays in the finishing position for just a second after she digs. She has great reactions on the court. When she is positioning herself for a dig, she will stand very close to teammates. This commands attention from opponents because of the remaining open space.
Havani Embry | 5’4″ | 2026 | L | Poway High School
Low is a great word to explain the game of Havani Embry. Low happens in two different fashions for her. First, most of her digs are low in the air. Second, she has excellent mobility and can get her body very low to dig a ball. This mobility allows her to stay on her feet near the sideline from about 10 – 26 feet away from the net. When the ball goes to the middle of the court there is no question the Embry is diving in the middle to elevate the ball.
Kaylin Crewse | 5’1″ | 2026 | DS | Calvary Baptist High School
To record 39 digs in a match is certainly one highlight for Kaylin Crewse. In a game that has many touches of the ball in a very short time, Crewse makes many short bursts of movement. Doing this is how she makes a play and then gets ready to make another. Subsequently, she brings good energy to the court. All of her movements bring her body to a necessary height to play the ball with ease.
