Summer Cummings | 6’1″ | 2025 | MB | WAVE Volleyball
A player with excellent situational awareness like Summer Cummings is one that many teammates will want on the court. Specifically, she reads the volley as it happens and adjusts to anticipate what is next. There is no question then that she closes a block well. When on offense, it is a joy to see that she just swings. That means she runs the play set as called, prepares her attack, and then executes. That executable skill is often tough to perform. Additionally, she is not afraid to soften up her hands and set. Cummings touches a height of the the second red on the antenna.
Abigail Gomez | 2026 | L |
Abigail Gomez is a player willing to find her way onto the court. When she is hitting, it is clear that she has spent much time playing defense and reading hitters. Specifically, she understands how to hit against a block that is taller than her. Her impressive ability to take a set and make more happen in the rally is something to watch for. Passers must be on the toes against her serve as it drops fast. Gomez is really great with her teammates as she is often found talking and strategizing with them. Her passing is good and a solid foundation for her game.
Jovi Harmon | 5’10” | 2025 | OH/MB | Coast Volleyball
If not at first, eventually the involvement of Jovi Harmon throughout a volley is something that will catch everyone’s attention. Specifically, whenever the ball is on her side of the court she is gravitating to the play. Additionally, she works hard and smart. This allows her to be involved and also keeps some distance for her teammates to play free. When she is hitting, Harmon is a versatile hitter than is comfortable hitting in the middle or outside. After her approach, she drops her left arm allowing herself to really reach with her right hand (hitting hand).
Rujisa Hodges | 2025 | L |
The leadership and communication from Rujisa Hodges is a quality to bring attention to. It is easy to go unnoticed because much of those traits occur while the volley is happening. Specifically, she cheers on teammates and continues to talk what should happen and what is happening. Her passing is good and a solid foundation for her game. Additionally, she backs up the hitters on her team by always covering underneath the block. When on defense, Hodges reads a play well and goes to play the ball without hesitation.
Jordyn Peraza| 2024 | L |
A platform that is strong and steady leads to the relaxed passing form of Jordyn Peraza. Throughout what could be as long as ten seconds, Peraza stays calm and focused in a serve receive pattern. Her balanced nature allows for the ball to come to her and then get sent to the setter as delicate as tossing an egg. Additionally, she has good vision of what is happening and what will happen next. Specifically, she positions herself well prior to contact of the ball. She plays very well with her teammates by listening.
