Cassidy Frakes | 5’7″ | 2025 | L | Empower Volleyball
Look for a player that is comfortable playing close to another player and most likely find Cassidy Frakes. Although she makes the same read, she often chooses to let teammates play the ball. Additionally, Frakes will follow the ball while it is in play. Specifically, if a pass goes right (her left) she takes adjustment steps while keeping her eye on the ball. Generally, her position on the court before playing can de described as protecting the perimeter. When she contacts the ball from a serve or attack, she plays it extended away from her body.
Delaynie Harris | 5’4″ | 2026 | L |
Delaynie Harris is ready for an unexpected play by keeping her head in the game. In other words, she is attentive to the action touch by touch during the volley. If that ball goes her direction, she steps up and performs. When passing the ball she uses her shoulders to guide the ball to the target. When setting the ball, she contacts about halfway between her forehead and full extension both vertically and horizontally. Additionally, Harris positions herself to help the team by looking to them during a rally and making adjustments accordingly.
Emma Esquivel | 2025 | L |
Look for a player that will hustle to keep a rally going and most likely find Emma Esquivel. With that, there is no surprise she is also in the middle of the court more often than any other place on the court. It is a good thing for her the majority of action happens in the middle of the court. Her ambition to make a play shows each time the ball is in play. When passing, she contacts the ball halfway between next to her body and arms fully extended. Her platform stays straight before, during and after.
Jilianna Loya | 5’5″ | 2025 | L | Desert Sports Volleyball
Balance can appear in many ways and Jilianna Loya has it show up when she is receiving serve. Specifically, she uses both her legs and arms equally to pass. This coordinated movement makes it enjoyable watching the ball fly after a first contact. Additionally, she subtly contacts the ball close to her body. During and immediately after contact, she pushes the ball up to target with her shoulders. When an opponent mixes in a short and quickly dropping serve, Loya gets as low as is needed for that instance. If there is a routine slow moving over ball from the opponent, expect her to execute.
Tatianna Wright | 2024 | L |
Shuffling her feet to pass the ball in the middle of her body is an aspect that stands out for Tatianna Wright. Additionally, this movement is consistent throughout many rallies. Whether she plays the ball or not, she will shuffle quickly. As a result, she is always there in case of a backup needed for a teammate playing the ball. Wright plays at the pace of the game, not getting too far ahead of herself or the live action. When she passes, it seems clear that the number one objective is to just get the ball up in the air.
