Today’s edition talks about the kids that have significantly altered their recruitment since the last update back in the fall. Here they are!
Calista Foster Calista Foster 5'9" | OH Benton Central | 2026 State IN , 5-9 OH, Benton Central, Boiler Juniors
Champion of the MEPL 15/16 division. Bluegrass 16 Open champion. And those are just the accomplishments in the last few weeks. Calista is easily the purest six-rotation outside in the class, and has a whole history of success from the first time she’s played. The main catalyst in her squad’s gold-medal-winning performance last weekend in Louisville, Miss Foster can, has and will take over a match, a la Chloe Chicoine, another Lafayette-area primary-passing outside who happens to be a starter for nationally-ranked Purdue. Cut from the same cloth, Calista is a five-tool player: attack, serve, net defense, floor defense and serve receive are all well above average for not only this class, but in all classes we list here at PD. I’m looking forward to watching Calista and her team get that open bid at MEQ this weekend in Indy.
Josie Imes Josie Imes 5'10" | OH Zionsville | 2026 State IN , 5-10 OH, Zionsville, Circle City
Another primary-passing outside from north of Indianapolis, Josie’s recent switch to Circle City this year has paid dividends. She can put a ball away from anywhere (front or back row), defends her position well, serves with a purpose and receives serve at an above average level. These successes are all while playing a high-level, open schedule, recently earning the National bid at Hoosier Regionals. This weekend’s schedule should be a little tougher than that though, as 16 Purple opens against A5’s top squad in pool 5 at MEQ this weekend.
Merritt Sliwa Merritt Sliwa 6'0" | OH Hamilton Southeastern | 2026 State IN , 6-1 OH, Hamilton Southeastern, Rev
Already on the roster for nationally-ranked HSE, she’s a long and lean attacker from either pin that can already jump touch over ten feet. Quick and agile, Merritt makes pass-to-attack look fluid and easy, and should be turning the heads of many a college coach this weekend in 16 Open. Despite her lithe frame, Merritt hits a heavy ball that’s hard to dig, and has the capability of hitting all shots available to her when attacking on the left pin.
Tenley Davis Tenley Davis 6'1" | OH Chesterton | 2026 State IN , 6-1 OH, Chesterton, 1st Alliance
Big and physical, Tenley is an aggressive and strong-armed outside that can receive serve in a pinch if you need her. At first, I wasn’t sure of her capabilities. After watching her high school season last fall, it was unclear which path (volleyball or basketball) she’d follow. Cut to this weekend, and her roster is seeded third overall in 16 Open. Again, Miss Davis can hammer away at all opponents any time she wants on the volleyball court. But after averaging 18/8 in basketball, the sky is truly the limit for this two-sport star. Here’s hoping that volleyball is her path, as she would be a welcome addition to any volleyball roster at the Division I level.
Bailey Sinish Bailey Sinish 5'11" | OH Carroll | 2026 State IN , 5-9 OH, Carroll, Summit
Springy with a whip for an arm, Bailey is the only player listed today that is playing in the 17 Open division of MEQ this weekend. She’s a six-rotation, primary-passing workhorse of an outside, as evidenced last season when she averaged 4+kps/.300+ on a 26-win squad. If that doesn’t convince you of her immense talent, how about holding the single-match record for kills at Carroll with 28? Not enough? Maybe setting the school record for high jump as a freshman (5’8″) is enough for you. No matter what you personally think, Miss Sinish is a top-ten athlete in two sports in the state of Indiana, and her athleticism is off the charts in both volleyball and track.
