18 American
Apex Volleyball 18-1 staved off a challenge from KC Challenge 18-1 to capture the title in straight sets. With two bids available, both teams appeared to be set but Apex would decline, and Kansas Networks 18-1 would be the beneficiary after beating REPMO Eclipse 18-1 in the third-place match. The competition throughout the weekend was tough with no teams winning all of their matches and quite a few 1-1 contests in pool play.
18 Freedom
The freedom division only had one bid in play so there was little margin for error in pool and bracket play. The Club North 18-1 team outlasted Alpha Omega Volleyball 18-1 in an epic final in straight sets. The score of those sets, 25-22 and 27-25 only gives a glimpse of the level of play taking place throughout the match. Both teams were coming off tough three-set dogfights in the semifinals and left it all out on the court.
17 American
Two bids were awarded and Alpha Omega 17-1 and Kansas Networks 17-1 would navigate their way through pool and bracket play to capture them. KNVBC was perfect through the weekend until they ran into a determined Alpha squad in the championship. Alpha played in four straight three-set matches and had just enough in the final, winning the match 15-11. Both teams accepted their bids and will head to nationals.
17 Freedom
Invasion 17-1 would only drop one set en route to a championship and Liberty bid. They dropped one set along the way but ended the weekend with two close matches where all four sets had identical scores of 25-22. They beat a Dynasty 17 Blue team who was also perfect throughout the tournament up to the championship.
