17 Open
Pool three will feature Mavs KC 17-1. Lee’s Summit West product Kamryn McDonald Kamryn McDonald 6'0" | OH Lee's Summit West | 2025 State MO will help lead this team into this weekend’s qualifier looking to upgrade their National bid earned in region Power League play. If our research is correct, this is the first qualifier of the year for this team who will follow up with Show Me and Lone Star.
HPSTL 17 Royal will start play in pool four when the first serve is sent over the net. They have a couple of qualifiers under their belts traveling to Sunshine and MEQ. Their best finish to date is a 9th place showing at MEQ a couple of weeks ago. The team will look to break out this weekend with ball control and middle play from Tara Greenberry Tara Greenberry 6'3" | MB Incarnate Word | 2025 State #117 Nation MO and Lainey Waser Lainey Waser 6'2" | MB Rockwood Summit | 2025 State MO .
Rockwood Thunder 17 Elite will look to better their 29th-place finish at Sunshine earlier this month. They own the region’s Freedom bid but will try to upgrade to the Open from Pool 6. Gabby Clinkscale will be key to the team’s success on the pin.
17 USA
We will look at four teams taking battle in the USA division this weekend.
Team Momentum 17 Navy will be the second seed in the second pool when they begin action on Friday. They were 43rd in their last qualifier in the USA division and will look to better their finish. Good passing and ball control will be key to any success they achieve so keep your eye on Lola Thorton and Ella LeDoux.
Also representing the Gateway Region, HP South 17 Premier. In their last attempt at a bid, they competed in the Liberty division and had a 49th-place result. Madeline Ewing and Kaycee Bearden run the offense for this quad who will be in Pool 6. Back in January, they walked away from Northern Lights with a second-place finish
HPSTL 17 Orange has been consistent and played good volleyball this spring. They finished 17th out of 80 teams in the Liberty division at MEQ. They also had a strong showing in their Gateway region bid event, leaving with a second-place performance. Evelin Thalacker Evelin Thalacker DS/L Kirkwood | 2025 State MO has been lights out defensively. Look for them in Pool 7.
Rounding out the bunch of teams we will preview in the division is Club North 17 Steve. They traveled to Florida to start the month trying their luck in the Liberty division and finished 28th. They will be in a three-team pool to start the tournament. Middles Jemeah Chappell and Kelsey Keling will try to create havoc defensively.
17 Liberty
STL Crossfire 17 SP1 will be the top team in Pool 11. They have had success in a couple of tournaments they’ve participated in this year. Avery Wuebbels is one of a handful of players who can score on the pin.
Rockwood Thunder 17 White is in Pool 12 and will look to improve on their 65th-place finish from MEQ. Erica Conger Erica Conger 5'10" | OH Parkway West | 2025 State MO will look to impact the game from the right side for Rockwood.
