Prep Dig kicked off its Friday night at the 2024 SCVA Red Rock Rave Unsigned Showcase hosted by MarKi.
MarKi showcases are hosted by seasoned coaches who have a wealth of knowledge from coaching at the club level and higher. With combined experience of over 50 years, the coaches present at the event tonight brought a wealth of knowledge to the courts. Held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, more than 100 aspiring players were eager to showcase their skills and make a lasting impression.
This article will highlight some of the standout players who caught the attention of the court coaches and scouts present at the event.
Isabella Russell brings a dynamic intensity to the game, characterized by a powerful snap on the ball and a disciplined passing platform. Although this top setter wasn’t listed in the informational packet I received, and her bib lacked identifying information, I couldn’t resist writing about her. This player displayed hustle on every play, delivering sets with pinpoint accuracy and a disciplined release. Among the setters I observed that night, she stood out as one of the most vocal, offering continuous encouragement to her teammates. What truly impressed me was her proactive approach to seeking feedback from players and implementing self-corrections accordingly.

The next showcase hosted by MarKi will be the 2024 Volleyball Festival Unsigned Showcase, scheduled for June 26, 2024. This event is open to unsigned athletes graduating in the classes of 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027. Held at the Phoenix Convention Center, the showcase offers a prime opportunity for athletes to exhibit their skills. Early bird registration is available at a cost of $130, which includes video coverage. The session will run from 4:00pm to 5:30pm and is open to all ages.
PrepDig’s upcoming showcases are slated before the 2024 Salt Lake City Showdown Girls National Qualifier on April 5th and April 11th.
