There are four middle hitters that cracked the top-20 overall rankings for this class.
1. Cynthia Ockerman Cynthia Ockerman 6'3" | MB Brighton | 2027 State MI : A 6’3 tower that is making a big impact for Legacy this club season, Ockerman has a very high ceiling and should be drawing the eyes of all college coaches. She’s able to play well above the net with her reach, but also has great arm speed and attack angles.
2. Ava Bush-Nelson Ava Bush-Nelson 6'1" | MB Jenison | 2027 State MI : The Jenison product really caught some eyes this fall with the ease in which she’s able to finish points. Bush-Nelson makes it look effortless at times with her ability to come over the top of the ball and hang in the air. Her court awareness improved a lot throughout the fall as well.
3. Camille Robinson Camille Robinson 5'10" | MB Harper Creek | 2027 State MI : Robinson is capable of playing the outside and the middle. She’s an explosive player with a smooth swing that can power through blockers and also hit tough spots in the back row. Robinson has a lot of athleticism, and should only get better as she improves on the small details.
4. Avery Thorp Avery Thorp 6'1" | MB Plainwell | 2027 State MI : Thorp is definitely someone to keep an eye on. The 6’1” middle may not draw some of the same attention, but she’s got a very high upside as well. Her compact swing generates a lot of power and she stays light on her feet to be a dominant blocking force.
Others to keep an eye on
Olivia Berishaj Olivia Berishaj 5'11" | MB Eisenhower | 2027 MI : One of the strong middles on a talented Legacy squad, Berishaj is showing her competitive fire this year and that’s going to take her a long way. She plays aggressively and brings a lot of energy to the court.
Kate Colosky Kate Colosky 6'0" | MB Portage Central | 2027 MI : A 6-footer from Portage Central, Colosky has big hang time and stays very active at the net. She shows good court awareness and is willing to scrap for her points and blocks.
Cara Crittendon Cara Crittendon 5'10" | MB Byron Center | 2027 MI : Crittendon is going to go up against a lot of great middles over these next few years, both in prep and club play. That’s going to bring some more intensity out of her and raise her game. She’s already got a lot of good natural instincts and agility.
Isabelle Lawhorn Isabelle Lawhorn 6'0" | MB Lake Orion | 2027 MI : Lawhorn can play anywhere along the net and succeed. She’s got a lot of explosiveness off the floor and delivers a lot of power on her swings. She’s able to take on a big offensive workload and is getting craftier on the floor each week.
Brooklyn Rummler Brooklyn Rummler 6'2" | MB Stoney Creek | 2027 MI : A 6’2” middle, Rummler is one of the top blockers in this class for the position. She’s agile and quick at the net, and has improved on her timing this club season. Her improved movement is going to make her a dominant force in the years ahead.
