Of course this tournament was not only about winning, but also getting a chance to put your skills to the test and play with different levels of competition.
Now that Red Rock Rave is over, I put together a list of standout players from Nevada club teams that you absolutely need to know. The class of 2027, current freshmen, had a ton of talent and it was very hard to narrow it down to just a few.
However, here are a few girls that I either got a chance to see live in person or on BallerTV.
I’ve had the opportunity to both watch Jada on film and see her play in person this past weekend. It’s very clear that she’s poised to make a significant impact next school season at Arbor View. While she excels in hitting from the outside, her true specialty lies on the right side, where her explosiveness shines. Right-side hitters, or ‘oppos,’ are receiving more sets than ever before, and Jones capitalizes on this by delivering powerful shots down the line or cross court shots that are difficult to return. With her talent, this freshman has a bright future ahead, and I eagerly await watching her play for Arbor View in the fall.
Highlights
Addison Jones
Addison Jones
In my opinion, Addison is destined to be among the top setters recruited from her class in 2027. The confident setter is great at ball placement which enables her hitters to navigate around the block effectively. In addition to setting well, she contributes significantly to her team’s blocking efforts. Simply put, her clean sets and great decision-making elevate the performance of her entire team. Jones played a pivotal role in leading her highly skilled Vegas Aces club to a commendable 5th place finish at Red Rock Rave, USA division. I’ll be following this athlete for the remainder of her school and club career.
Emagin Stutzman
Emagin Stutzman
Stutzman is making strides toward becoming one of Nevada’s premier outside hitters. I managed to watch film and highlights from her Red Rock Rave weekend performance and it’s clear that her specialty lies in hitting around the block. This is a skill that immediately grabs the attention of scouts. Her exceptional court awareness translates into an impressive tally of kills, surpassing those of the average hitter. I will be keeping up with this talented freshman for the next few years and plan to catch her in action soon.
Aliana Breitling
Aliana Breitling
Aliana Breitling stands out as one of the most explosive outside hitters in her class. She plays on a very talented club team but manages to still set herself apart as a top hitter. She can put the ball down hard with her very quick armswing which makes it challenging for opponents to anticipate and block effectively. It’s no surprise that her impressive skills earned her an invitation to the prestigious UA Next Camp last year. In addition to being a great hitter, Aliana adds value to her team with her blocking, hustle, and contagious energy on the court. The future looks bright for this Bishop Gorman freshman, and I expect her to attract significant attention from recruiters in the coming years.
There were of course a ton more players that impressed me at the tournament and I will be introducing more of them in future articles. You can view more of my Red Rock Rave standout picks based in Nevada for the class of 2025 and 2026 here on PrepDig.com
