The Class of 2025 already has some D1 commitments from the area to its credit, with more likely to come.
Here’s a look at eight of the top players representing Macomb County from this class.
Players listed alphabetically
Alayna Esselink Alayna Esselink 5'10" | MB Richmond | 2025 State MI , MH Richmond/Michigan Elite
Esselink has been a big factor with her block in recent weeks, as she’s improved a lot on her timing. She’s also got the footwork to cover a lot of space and make hitters have to adjust on the fly. On the attack, Esselink can wait on the ball and high-point it consistently.
Amelia Klos Amelia Klos 6'0" | OH Anchor Bay | 2025 State MI , OH Anchor Bay/Legacy
Klos has already caught eyes at the next level, as she’s committed to play at Wayne State. The 6-footer does a good job of staying within herself on her attacks. She can certainly deliver the fastball, but mixes in a lot of offspeed and changes up her attack angles well. Klos also shows a lot of composure as a defender.
Claire Leinberger Claire Leinberger 5'9" | DS/L Lutheran North | 2025 MI , OH Lutheran North/Crank It
A defensive outside that can really do it all, Leinberger was the six-rotation outside that led Lutheran North to an outstanding prep season. She’s been locked in defensively this club season as well. Her quickness and athleticism leads to a lot of smooth form in her passing and serve receive. Leinberger’s attacks are consistent and efficient, while her serving challenges defenses each time.
Kate Schneider Kate Schneider 6'1" | MB L'Anse Creuse North | 2025 State MI , MH L’Anse Creuse North/Crank It
A middle and outside option, Schneider has really put together a solid club season for Crank It, where she’s proven she can be a go-to hitter and finish at a high level. She shows a lot of agility at the net and she sees the floor very well.
Ella Sikorski Ella Sikorski 5'4" | DS/L Regina | 2025 State MI , DS/L Regina/Monsters
Sikorski has been a defensive leader for Regina since she was a freshman and has been consistent in her growth as a player. She has active eyes and keeps herself on the move in order to get into good position to dig up the big attacks. Sikorski never looks overwhelmed, even when facing the best of the best on the other side.
Katerina Stout Katerina Stout 6'3" | MB Macomb Dakota | 2025 State MI , MH Dakota/Michigan Elite
Stout is a 6’3 middle that could be making some waves in the next year. She shows very good awareness and positions herself well to finish points. Her length allows her to come over the top of the ball at a sharp angle and it tends to leave defenses looking helpless. Not surprisingly, Stout is also a strong blocking presence.
Amanda Vushaj Amanda Vushaj 5'11" | OH Regina | 2025 State MI , OH Regina/Michigan Elite
Vushaj has looked good finishing as a right side this club season. She builds up a lot of forward momentum and can bring the ball down at tough angles. She continues to add little pieces to her all-around game to improve her value at the next level.
Abigail Wutka Abigail Wutka 5'11" | OH Macomb Dakota | 2025 State MI , OH Dakota/Michigan Elite
Wutka is a very aggressive swinger and that leads to her have attacks that are as volatile as anyone. She’s worked hard to improve her finishing rate and her defense, but her strength is being able to provide that highlight-reel kill that can swing momentum. Wutka is very explosive and doesn’t waver on her approach.
