In one of the most stacked classes the game has ever seen in Michigan, it did not take long for some of the biggest names to establish their next move.
In about 5-6 months time, the top ten of the 2025 class in Michigan was called for. Now, in less than a year of the recruiting gates opening on this class, the top 20 is gone! In fact, this class is five prospects away from being fully committed from number 1 all the way to prospect No. 40! Talk about a deep bench!
Take a look below at the Michigan 2025 class’ top twenty and where they’re heading.
The Early Commits
The undisputed number 1 recruit out of Michigan, and arguably in the country, Campbell Flynn Campbell Flynn 6'2" | S Mercy | 2025 State #4 Nation MI kicked off this class last year on June 15th. A player who had her pick of the litter, the volleyball world was at her finger tips, would choose to take her game to the Cornhusker state! This then would be followed up by a multitude of honors, including a World Championship with USA and a State Championship with Mercy.
After Flynn, it was a while before we got any news from this class. But once it started, it wouldn’t stop. Next commit came on July 10th, with one of the top ranked MBs, Olivia Grenadier Olivia Grenadier 6'1" | MB Country Day | 2025 State #91 Nation MI . Another player that would’ve been a steal for any program found herself atop the mountains with Colorado-Boulder, a newly welcomed Big XII member.
The very next day, we would get news from the MI No. 2 ranked, and nationally top 50 ranked, Navea Gauthier Navea Gauthier 6'1" | OH Shelby | 2025 State #56 Nation MI . The star of the west (side) was also thinking of some B1G things alongside Flynn. She announced her commitment to Ohio State, joining another stacked class for the Buckeyes.
And rounding out the early commits, Chloe Giehtbrock Chloe Giehtbrock 6'2" | S Marian | 2025 State MI called her number next. A top 15 ranked setter who’s only been playing the position for a little over a year found her home at the University of Arizona! Announced on July 13th, this took many by surprise given her newness to the position, but so far, it is looking to be a huge get for the Wildcats in hindsight. Alongside Colorado, Arizona is another new Big XII member as of the 2024 fall.
Big Names Along the Way
Fast forward a bit, the big time names and colleges kept on linking. A real underrated name in this class, Jordyn Hughes Jordyn Hughes 6'0" | MB Portage North | 2025 State MI announced her commitment to UConn in the beginning of November. One of the first big names from the Dead Frog cannon in quite sometime. Hughes is a top 15 prospect with an incredible vertical and insane athleticism.
Not too long after Hughes, another top 20 center would call her own number. Staying on the west side, Abby Pickard Abby Pickard 5'10" | S Lakewood | 2025 State MI announced nearly a month later that she’d be rejoining current teammate Kendall Hopewell Kendall Hopewell 6'1" | MB Forest Hills Northern | 2024 State #193 Nation MI at Northern Kentucky in the fall of 2025. Pickard has been a victorious setter throughout her ongoing prep career that includes a Final Four appearance and a Top Five finish at AAU Nationals in the 17 Open.
Recent Announcements
Rounding out the crew of elite players in this 2025 class, Taygan Corstange Taygan Corstange 5'4" | DS/L Gull Lake | 2025 State MI gave us a much a needed fix for big announcements. The top rated libero out of Dead Frog announced at the end of March that she’d be heading to the Horizon League powerhouse, Wright State. This program not only had a huge 2023 season, but is racking in some serious talent from the mitten. Corstange follows in the footsteps of fellow Michigan prep stars, Greta McKee Greta McKee 5'5" | DS/L Northville | 2024 State MI (Northville, 2024) and current WSU star, Reilly Zegunis (Zeeland East, 23).
And, FINALLY, capping off the top twenty, Addison Williams Addison Williams 6'2" | MB South Lyon East | 2025 State MI announces her next moves post-high school. A move that that is long awaited from the burgeoning force, Williams announced late April that she will be heading to the west coast to join another burgeoning force in Fresno State. This is a player that has quite a nice utility to her game. She’s playing with an extra pop in her game all junior year and will add some much needed fire power to the Bulldogs in a few months.
