The Michigan Stock Up Showcase was well represented by 2027 talent on Sunday in Pontiac.

There's a lot from this group looking to make a bigger splash in the fall and many should do just that.

Here's our second part of player evaluations from this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='502408' first='Kayleigh' last='Miersen'], DS/L Caledonia/FaR Out

Miersen is a defender that doesn't use a lot of wasted movement. She is calculated in her approach, but always seems to be in the right spot to make a clean feed. She communicates well and looks comfortable taking the lead in the back row.

[player_tooltip player_id='788867' first='Alayna' last='Rasmussen'], OH Salem/Legacy

Rasmussen looks to be progressing with her all-around play. She mixes up her shot speeds and locations, anticipates well with her blocking, and puts in the focus on her defensive play. There's still room to grow in all areas, but Rasmussen is proving she can be an asset anywhere a team needs her.

[player_tooltip player_id='728696' first='Emiya' last='Franklin'], OH Redford Thurston/Michigan Elite

Franklin's attacks look very smooth. She gets great lift off the floor and connects at the peak of her jump, which leads to consistent power and velocity that is a challenge for defenders to dig up. Franklin's swing and follow through was just as strong to start the Showcase as it was at the end.

[player_tooltip player_id='727743' first='Jada' last='Austin'], MB Utica/Monsters

Austin was a versatile middle that showed good footwork and agility. That allowed her to be a force from a variety of locations along the net. Along with her effective hitting, Austin was a strong blocking presence that got her hands on a lot of opposing attacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='490050' first='Micah' last='Harris'], DS/L Cass Tech/Club Xtreme

Harris definitely made a good impression on people at the Showcase. Not only was her energy and effort among the best in the group, but her play earned praise from some of the coaches as well. She was complimented for her work ethic and drive, which was easy to see when she was on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='490043' first='Katelynn' last='Dabish'], S OL St. Mary's/Team Detroit

Dabish had some timing issues during the early stages of the Showcase, which can be expected when working with so many new hitters. However, she adapted well and made good corrections to get a lot of strong swings out of her peers. She picked up a lot of good tips and was able to apply them on the fly.

[player_tooltip player_id='847945' first='Charley' last='Duckworth'], DS/L Bellevue/Midwest

Duckworth looked impressive for much of the event. She stayed in good position while being able to cover a lot of space around the court. She was able to be quick without being careless, which allowed her to make some tough digs.

[player_tooltip player_id='523415' first='Peyton' last='Tarmnel'], MB Marshall/MSF Flight

At 6'1” Tarmnel was a noticeable presence at the net that opposing hitters had to factor in. She was able to disrupt a lot of shots and cause players to adjust their swing at the last second. As an attacker, Tarmnel can produce a lot of power without much effort. If she continues to build on her footwork and timing, she can become a major factor.

[player_tooltip player_id='847954' first='Lillian' last='Lawson'], DS/L Powers Catholic/Athlete HQ

Lawson was a well-balanced player that had strong communication skills. She directed traffic well from a defensive standpoint and looked comfortable as a leader. She kept good form on serve receive and passed at a high rate. She's also got the athleticism to put down a good back-row attack.

[player_tooltip player_id='517282' first='Allie' last='Ruhlig'], OH SMCC/Athlete HQ

Listed at just 5'9”, Ruhlig has a long, gliding swing that makes her look much longer on the court. She's got a good approach to the net and generates good momentum in her swing. She also can turn on the ball to attack the boundary lines, leaving the defenders caught off guard.
