–

This was an incredible day of volleyball full of new faces (to me) and a lot of exciting talent to talk about.

As a guy who focuses a lot of his time primarily on the Michigan kids with a touch of just about everybody come club season, being on tape for this weekend's stop in Indiana for the Exposure Tour was a lot of fun. While I get to see a lot of Indiana kids throughout the club circuit, there is so much talent in this state. It is simply so hard to see all that the Hoosier state has to offer.

For this event, I saw a lot of great stuff from all aspects of the gym. From the pure positional separation of it all, to the communicative grit and effort that these Indiana kids bring to the court.

Starting off strong, lets talk about some of the top pins in this stop of the tour. The state of Indiana is a hoard of elite level pin attackers. Just look around and you will find yourself near one. I found myself near many on Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='787563' first='Reagan' last='Edwards'] - Warsaw

[player_tooltip player_id='787563' first='Reagan' last='Edwards'] was a lot of fun to watch and was one of the first to stand out to me when the event started. Primarily getting action on the right side, Edwards hits a very heavy ball. When she can connect with the set, it is a thunderous kill. She can get it done on both pins, but on the right is where her light shines brightest.

Kendal Rowray - Yorktown

This player is a shorter attacker but nonetheless quite the mighty one! Kendal Rowray has such a great approach to the ball. She gets her feet to the set, gathers her self and can unleash a nice ball. She looks quite comfortable on either pin and had no trouble scoring from either.

Byrnn Snyder - Hamilton Southeastern

[player_tooltip player_id='909201' first='Brynn' last='Snyder'] has a wicked south paw that's able to score in a variety of ways. She hits a heavy ball but also looks very keen to the block and how to manipulate it to her advantage. Her versatility in the ways she can score from the right pin stood out to me greatly.

[player_tooltip player_id='572622' first='Elena' last='Cook'] - New Palestine

We have another south paw and this one is quite the big one. At 6'2, [player_tooltip player_id='572622' first='Elena' last='Cook'] can really utilize her size and reach to be quite an alarming presence at the net. I saw her hit some gnarly shots at a height that is extremely difficult for most to defend. With that, she sees the court well and has no problem moving her ball around.

[player_tooltip player_id='532870' first='Isabella' last='May'] - Northview

Who said lefties can only attack on the right pin? [player_tooltip player_id='532870' first='Isabella' last='May'] is an enigma that really catches the eye. She's a smaller attacker that jumps well but she's also left handed and extremely comfortable taking cracks at the ball on the left side. She can manipulate the ball in ways not many can, while at a disadvantaged angle. All of which made her a lucrative scorer. While I can only assume she plays on the right in club, I wouldn't hate to see her play six rotations on the left, ala a Dani Drews type player. Quite hard to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='911000' first='Evie' last='Weber'] - Dekalb

I have never seen quite as many left handed volleyball players in one gym EVER. Not to mention, this many good ones! [player_tooltip player_id='911000' first='Evie' last='Weber'] is yet another one at this Exposure tour that demanded some attention. She's a little on the smaller side, but nonetheless makes a big impact on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='586954' first='Hayden' last='Reeves'] - Hamilton Southeastern

The fun thing about these showcases are the variety of styles of play. [player_tooltip player_id='586954' first='Hayden' last='Reeves'] has a wonderful step / close that allows her to get on top of the ball with a lot of power you wouldn't otherwise see. This an attribute to many attacker's game that can separate them from the rest. This small detail in her game makes her so incredibly valuable. She sees the block well and was able to carve up some crazy angles around it to score.

[player_tooltip player_id='747454' first='Hadley' last='Hasselbring'] - Our Lady Of Providence

Hayden Hasselbring is another smaller attacker but jumps well and has a wide array of shots to her disposal. Her play looks to have quite a bit of beach influence through. From off speed shots and vision for open court space, Hasselbring doesn't necessarily need to be the heaviest arm in the gym. She can make the point through so many different ways.
