The Division 2 championship race resulted in a repeat winner for the 2025 season, but there were a lot of great storylines during the postseason.

That made for an exciting race when it came to picking our Player of the Year and Coach of the Year.

Here's a look at who earned the top honors for Division 2.

D2 Player of the Year – [player_tooltip player_id='839917' first='Sarah' last='Giroux'], Flat Rock

It was a competitive field of candidates for D2 Player of the Year, but Giroux was the driving force behind a record-setting year for Flat Rock.

Her competitive spirit was on full display in the state semifinal, when she had 30 kills and 34 digs in a win over Fremont to push the Rams to the championship match.

On the year, Giroux did a little bit of everything for Flat Rock. She finished with 571 kills, 365 digs, and 55 aces.

Even more impressive is that Giroux hit .340 on the season while being a lead defender as well. She led Flat Rock in both kills and digs in 2025, as she pushed herself to the max in every match and point she was in.

Honorable Mentions: Though her team didn't get into finals week, [player_tooltip player_id='226888' first='Aubree' last='Deshetsky'] certainly gave all she had to make North Branch one of the top teams in the state. The senior put up over 800 kills and 400 digs this fall. When it comes to the repeat state champions, setter [player_tooltip player_id='574175' first='Payton' last='Woodruff'] once again proved she is among the best in the state at the position. While having a great connection with her primary hitter, she also helped bring out another level of play from her middles, which really turned the tide for DCD in the postseason.

Coach of the Year – Morgan Delhey, Flat Rock

Delhey was in her first year coaching Flat Rock and she led the Rams to the best season in program history. It started by finally getting past SMCC in the conference race, then it was elevated by claiming the program's first regional championship and then reaching their first state final. Delhey really got the best out of her players, making her the deserved D2 Coach of the Year.

Honorable Mentions: It's not easy to repeat as state champions, but Kim Lockhart guided DCD to another title and did it by helping continue to change the mindset of her players. A program that struggled to win the big match in previous years now comes up clutch in all the pressure situations. Jim Fish had another outstanding year with North Branch. Despite having an earlier exit than Fish would like, it came against the eventual champion. The Broncos had a dominant force leading the team on the court, but Fish again developed new talent in the starting lineup to be able to compete with anyone.
