Rising Talents To Watch As Texas Club Season Kicks Off

After taking a much-needed hiatus, I'm excited to return to Prep Dig and reconnect with the athletes, families, and coaches who make Texas volleyball such a special community. Stepping away gave me the space to reset, refocus, and come back with an even deeper appreciation for the level of talent and commitment we see in this state every season. Being back on the court, in the gyms, and in the mix again feels energizing, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue highlighting the hard work and growth of these players.   With club season officially kicking off, the buzz around Texas volleyball is already building, and the early competition is setting the tone for what should be a standout year. From rising prospects to returning leaders ready to take their game to the next level, there are so many athletes poised to make an impact. As I step back into coverage, here are a few players I'm especially looking forward to watching this season.    [player_tooltip player_id='578529' first='Coryn' last='Fields'] continues to grab attention with her athleticism and striking presence at the net. At 5'10”, she plays bigger than her height with fast lateral movement, efficient footwork, and a quick jump that makes her a threat both offensively and defensively. Coryn does an excellent job closing blocks and sealing seams, not allowing any balls to pass her across the net. Offensively, she brings a powerful arm with improving shot range, especially when attacking off one foot. Her confidence is growing, and as she adds more variation to her attack, she projects as a major contributor for Stellar this season.       June Berry is an exciting young outside with a smooth, composed game well beyond her years. She reads the court cleanly, controls her approach tempo, delivers consistent swings that pressures defenses, and she has a cannon for an arm. Her ball control stands out early with her calm platform, clean angles, and a willingness to pass in tough rotations. June is developing her power and adding more assertiveness to her back-row game, and with her work ethic, she has the upside to grow into a six-rotation weapon for Skyline.     Willtrace Ngo brings natural middle-blocker tools and an immediate on-court presence. Her length, timing, and blocking instincts make her a major defensive asset, and she consistently alters swings with her ability to close space and read hitters. Offensively, she delivers fast, efficient attacks and connects well in tempo, giving her setters a reliable option in the middle.   Willtrace committed to USC during the school season, and her game reflects exactly why she is poised to be a promising asset for both the Trojans and [program_tooltip program_id='431166' first='Houston' last='Juniors']. She plays with control, confidence, and steadiness that translate at the next level, and she continues to stand out as one of the top 2027 middles in Texas.     [player_tooltip player_id='579122' first='Aaria' last='Bruner'] is a dynamic pin with a lively arm and a fearless mindset. She elevates well off the ground and attacks with intensity, especially on the right side where she generates tough angles. Her athleticism pops immediately as she's fast off the floor, fluid in transition, and aggressive from the service line. As she continues sharpening her ball control and shot selection, Aaria has the potential to develop into a high-impact offensive force. Her competitiveness is evident, and she plays with an edge that sets her apart.     [player_tooltip player_id='580677' first='Izabella' last='Pham'] is a disciplined, high-IQ defender with exceptional court awareness. She reads hitters cleanly, positions early, and keeps the ball off the floor with strong platform stability. Izabella is confident taking first contact and shows poise in serve-receive, even under pressure. Her consistency and communication make her a backbone-type player who elevates her team's rhythm. As she keeps refining her serve-receive patterns and adding more velocity to her serve, she's on track to become a standout libero in her class.    If this early look is any indication, Texas volleyball fans are in for an exciting season. The athletes highlighted here are already making noise with their skill, competitiveness, and upside, and there's no doubt more names will emerge as club play ramps up. I'm excited to be back in the gyms and can't wait to see how these players grow, lead, and make their mark in the coming months.
