The Three Stars of the Day
OH, Teegan Werth, 5’6” – Worth is extremely competitive and it showed in the Trojans’ two season-opening wins. She combined for 20 kills in the two contests. Worth is quick and she can jump. She has yet to receive any official college offers, but the senior projects as an NAIA or JUCO talent.
MH, Jessica Saunders, 5’11”– Saunders is the spark plug that ignites the Hillsboro Engine. She can play both back and front rows. She has a take-charge attitude on the court and finds ways to make rally extending plays. Saunders had a total of 13 kills and eight blocks. She had seven digs in the 25-10, 25-16 win over Hesston.
OH, Sammie Saunders Sammie Saunders 5'8" | OH Hillsboro | 2022 State KS , 5’8” (’22 Ranked No. 31) – The junior outside hitter began ranked as number 31 in the Prep Dig Kansas player rankings for the Class of 2022. She finished with eight kills in Hillsboro’s first two matches. She is a good jumper and should get looks from DII and NAIA schools.
Freshman Futures
Freshman, Zaylee Werth, 5’11”, – At 5’7” freshman Zaylee Werth could still grow, but she already packs a heavy swing. Werth, who is currently playing in the middle for the Trojans, had 11 kills and seven blocks. She has a ceiling, so recruiters should keep an eye on her progression.
