Power League Pacesetters
All kinds of talent were on display at the 17U Power League Competition at Wichita Hoops on January 24.
Here is a look at a group of Kansas setters who played well during the day’s event which featured 29 17U teams from the Midwest.
Davis Guetterman, 5’6”, PVA (Louisburg) – Guetterman has a contagious energy and confidence about her. She is very fast but plays in control. The Louisburg junior heads will be playing with several college coaches keeping an eye on her. She projects as fringe D II talent and a solid NAIA or JUCO player.
Madison Freed, 5’10”, MAVS KC (Lawrence) – Freed has a solid performance for the MAVS 17-1 squad. She is surrounded by quality teammates including hitters from rival Free State. Freed has offers from NAIA programs and would have multiple suitors by the time her high school eligibility is used up.
Taryn Dial, 5’8”, Lawrence Juniors (Shawnee Heights) – Dial communicates well with her Lawrence Junior teammates and with her teammates at Shawnee Heights. She has a quick release and distributes the ball well. She has an offer from an NAIA program. Dial also plays basketball and could get college offers for both sports.
Makenzie Travis 5’8”, Kansas Volleyball Club (Beloit) – Travis is a talented setter who can run an offense. She has quick hands and communicates well. Travis has an offer from a JUCO program and other NAIA and JUCO programs should give the KVC setter a look.
