We are playing a bit of catch up this year for New Jersey with the Club season currently underway and the start of High School right around the corner. We are so excited to cover the 2022 club and high school season simultaneously this year and we have some new names in the Class of 2022 that should be on the radar, and yes a few of them we missed the first couple times around. Take a look at some new names in the Class of 2022 Rankings.
Olivia Cammalleri Olivia Cammalleri S Demarest | 2022 State NJ – Demarest
Setter
Cammalleri was a standout performer for Demarest in 2019. Her versatility make her a dominant setter. Her versatility was on full-display finishing with 307 assists, 194 digs and 35 aces. She’s very deceptive with her passing to keep the defense off-balance. Watch for her to be dominant once-again.
Jessica Balala Jessica Balala OH Midland Park | 2022 State NJ – Midland Park
Outside Hitter
Balala is an electric player who has the ability and intangibles that makes her side of the net better no matter what the situation is. She plays outside for her squad but spent most of her 2019 season pulling back off the net and picking up balls on the defensive. She moved into this primary passer role well, racking up 242 total digs.
Annabelle He Annabelle He DS/L Ridgewood | 2022 State NJ – Ridgewood
Libero
He was a breakout performer for Ridgewood. She had a monster year with 301 digs. The team knows she goings to make the dig and make a good pass to the setter for a scoring opportunity. She is the anchor for the Ridgewood defense.
Kailey Levinson Kailey Levinson S Park Ridge | 2022 State NJ – Park Ridge
Setter
Levinson had a great year finishing with 426 assists and 180 digs. Her athleticism is what makes her lethal and she can pass anywhere on the court. Watch out for her to be even more of a lethal passer this season with many of the Park Ridge girls’ returning.
Jenna Joyce Jenna Joyce DS/L Clifton | 2022 State NJ – Clifton
Defensive Specialist
Joyce had a solid season for Clifton. She showcased her defensive prowess with 129 digs, 21 aces and 14 assists. The team is reliant on her to turn defense into offense with a single dig and is a solid pass to the setter. She is the catalyst to Clifton.
